Oh come on, let's not turn this thread into another fight about CA's decision to use Steam.
Instead, we're closer to the release date!

Yes its such a shame we have to use a system that lets us not clog up our desks with boxes, that lets us install and uninstall at the click of a button, that brings all our games together in one handy list, that integrates community groups and friends lists easily into any and all games, that automatically patches and updates our games without having to go hunting for patches and that comes usually at a lower price and is often on sale there after release.

But you're right. Ohhhh nooooo. We have to have steam open to play our games. Of course why, if we were on our computers would we bother to NOT have steam open anyway??

its on steam already.... I suspect its fake just because its too damned early to be on steam!

Sail your ship as part of a fleet. Devs previously worked on: Darthmod, World of Warplanes, World of Tanks, RaceRoom, IL2-Sturmovik, Metro, STALKER and many other great games..

Steam is pure and simply undemocratic, but most you guys are too brainwashed to see it.

And because of it we now see the likes of EA come out with Origin and even Windows Live becoming more Draconian with Single Player games. Now we must have at least THREE interfering utilities on our PC we don`t want that make it an absolute nightmare to run any game offline in singleplayer.

Because of crap pile of Steam.

How many people switch off their router or whatever while using their computer?? I dont see why you'd ever be offline if you have your computer on and you're using it. It makes no sense. Its not Steams fault about origin or GFWL. Nor do any of those applications make a serious dent on ANY performance of my PC. In fact I never notice them 1 iota.

Personally I think people just oppose DRM for the sake of it sometimes. ITs like anything, nothing can ever be perfect there has to be some complaint about something. Even Steam. I mean I can understand the hatred of harsh DRm like Securom and limited activations...but Steam is minimal to the extreme.

Well Origin is pretty terrible. And I think Steam "DRM", if you can even call it that, is just a simple "Hang on, lemme check that you bought this game. 'k, have fun." and then it never runs that check again.

And what else do we see on the OPs link to the Steam site?

Witness the awesome scale of Total War: Rome II, no matter what your spec.

    Problem?

They're obviously trying to keep the minimum spec as low as possible. Which is a good thing? maybe not for you

I got Dirt 3 for free with my graphics card, it runs through steam but also requires windows live. I find it annoying that i can't save my game if i'm not logged in to windows live, so if id should ever lose my internet connection i'll be ed as far as playing that game goes. DRM sucks.
