Screen goes to power saving mode (Blacks out)

Well all I can say guys is that this is a fantastic mod and I have been having allot of fun... apart from one problem.

Some battles this problem doesn't seem to happen, but every now and then half way through a battle my monitor will black out.. out of the blue and go to 'power saving mode' as if it's not receiving a connection to the computer.

It's not my monitor that's the problem, as I have tried it on many other games with out any problems for excessive time. I also tried playing as a different faction (Silvian elves to Gondor) and the same problem happened. I have all the version updates and such.. so if anyone could help it would be great, as it can become quite annoying when you're just about to win a battle and then it cuts out.. and the only way to get out of it is to restart the computer manually.

Hmm, you say it's not a problem with your monitor, but I don't think it's a problem with the mod either. Have you tried adjusting the screen resolution in game? Also, make sure your comp and drivers are all up to date.

All drivers are up to date and such, as I didn't do them long ago. And the screen resolution is as it should at: 1680X1050

I just find it strange as I have never had this problem, and all my other games and such are working perfectly. I also have Medieval II: Stainless Steel mod and that doesn't do this problem.

As StealthFox said, try lowering the screen resolution little bit more and see does that help.

Changing the screen display down seemed to work, so cheers for that. :

Well, for a day at least.. now what happens is that after I deploy my men and ready the battle the game black out after one minute of gameplay and I see The Ring loading icon.. then it's crashes to the desktop and say's an "An Unspecified error has occurred to Medieval: II..." I've tried the game again many times and the same thing has repeated.

Disable daylight savings, go to control panel, Date and Time( Clock), Change Time Zone, uncheck Automatically Adjust clock for daylight saving time.

*Update..

My old saves work now. So thumbs up to you sire.

And one of my old saves was saved just before a battle that always crashed. I Tested it and again it crashed to desk top, just after getting all my men into position and starting the battle for a minute. This battle consists of Gondor VS Mordor; within which Mordor has two armies. This is simply an open field battle.

There is a known bug about battle crashes with reinforcements. Try taking a look at this thread, there are a few suggestions you might try.

From what I've read in the link you provided is that I'm not alone with this problem, not by a long shot. Seems like something in the mod that needs to be fixed, I just hope one of the moders see's this issue and sorts it out. Like most are saying it is a game breaker this issue, to what is a fantastic mod. And as one was saying they had the same issue in Stainless Steel which they then up-dated and fixed, considering both are made by King Kong I would of thought they would of stopped this issue for TATW too.
