    good Idea, here check this out its a dead mod but they have released all the materials they had and I must say there's alot already done http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=324840

    units are ported from RTW they are of highest quality as they are reworked after porting so that now their is variation in units, like shield textures, armor ans so on ,u can check it yourself, actually u can use it as a base, well a very developed base, with campaign map, units and a lot, actually I was one of the developers on the early stage of this mod, but there has been many changes since I left it

    hey guys, did you know that if you give the shield wall ability to a hoplite unit with hoplite animations, that you can recreate the hoplite phalanx?

    Of course mate, I cannot forget your contribution to my mod and again I thank your help. There is stuff that you can use from the mod as I have completed WOTG as a private use only mod.

    There are plenty of ready made mods to implement into the strat map such as buildings, unit models, merchants, diplomats, faction banners etc..so strat map is really easy to complete. The Mare Nostrum map is nice but personally it is too small and will not cover all teh faction areas you wish to use! there are however some other maps that stretch across the whole continent from arabia to Norway and briton to asia. This I think would be more suited for your mod.

    Most of teh stuff can be searched with ease on TWC and used freely.

    the must follow advice, one that will make your work much more easier

    I present a little preview of the WIP Carthagian Sacred Band, using the Mare Nostrum version as a base, I added more variations and the shield wall ability, which does this. Please note that in order to get them into the hoplite phalanx you need to have the shieldwall and guard mode on for it to function while moving and standing.

    can u make shieldwall and guard enabled by default, so that to exclude AI not using it?

    No thats not possible, can only activate shieldwall and guard independantly

    Is it possible then to scrip the AI to use the shieldwall + defensive mode for individual units in battles??
    The first thing they do when they enter that is.
