Default Scotland to introduce Gay Marriage (maybe)

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotlan...itics-18981287

Well done SNP. They are going ahead and doing it, religious fundamentalists be damned. There is going to be a serious amount of opposition, and they can practically kiss goodbye to independence now, but still, good on them.
A new mobile phone tower went up in a town in the USA, and the local newspaper asked a number of people what they thought of it. Some said they noticed their cellphone reception was better. Some said they noticed the tower was affecting their health.

A local administrator was asked to comment. He nodded sagely, and said simply: "Wow. And think about how much more pronounced these effects will be once the tower is actually operational."

Most of Scotland will oppose it, the idea of same-sex marriage is fundamentally opposed to Christian beliefs and the family unit. But if the parliament has any sense they will push it through regardless, anyone who is so pathologically homophobic as to oppose a bill which has absolutely no effect on this country other than to improve our economy and increase the general volume of happiness, needs to have a wake-up call.

And I thought Christians were supposed to be the only bigots here How dreadfully ironic.

I like how you just assume that I am an Atheist because I am in favour of gay marriage, and then call me a bigot. I am a Catholic.

I think this will increase gay tourism to Scotland from other parts of the UK. Especially camping.

    This is good news.

Christian beliefs and the family unit.
NEDS are the result of a lack of Christian beliefs and the breakdown of the family unit in Govan.I would rather gays than NEDS and their buckfast.
I can see a gay pride event very soon in Glasgow with the kilts flowing in the wind and the highland bagpipes dangling....

I'm so pleased about this, its an event that is long overdue. For a change I'm actually somewhat proud of my country. Its also good to see our devolved government making some noise, and the lash back against the SNP will also hurt the chances of independence.

So really this strengthens the prospects of a more decentralised UK, which can only be good in my eyes.

Well they'll have to have a vote, but with cross party support it's definitely going to pass, and about time.
As far as I can tell, your entire enterprise is little more than a solitary man with a messy apartment which may or may not contain a chicken.

They have the majority, there will be a vote, and they will most likely win.

It happens every few weeks or so actually I'm not going to bother with this one (I say that now, lets give it a bit).

But good on Scotland. An excellent move forward so we can settle this issue once and for all and give politicians one less thing to hide behind.

I find it amusing to hear the Christian groups (especially the Catholics) moaning about how this will destroy society.

forcing a judaic religion to accept gay marriage is very offensive to it, I think most people only care about the gays feelings

Very good news indeed. Now let's hope the rest of the UK will get about changing the laws to allow gay marriage, hopefully a bit faster than the 2015 date mentioned in the article.
