Game crashes to desktop whenever i go to real time battles

As the title says I am having a problem where I constantly crash to desktop anytime I try to play out a real time battle.

I have tried the daylight savings time fix and it does not work for me

I have tried running as admin and it does not fix it for me

I have tried deleting the two files mentioned in other threads and those have not fixed it for me

I feel really frustrated and am totally lost for what to do so any suggestions would be appreciated.

I use windows 7 if that is any help

Welcome to the forums! Try disabling UAC, there is a post how to do this here: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showt...3#post11755783. After disabling UAC, uninstall TATW, delete both Third_Age_3 folders in C:\...\SEGA\M2TW\mods and in virtual store too, there is a post how to do this here:http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showt...5#post11761105 . After that install TATW following install instructions and LOOK carefully on the install paths. Hope this helps

Are these the two files you deleted?

data\descr_geography_new.txt
data\descr_geography_new.db

Did you delete them in the Third Age folder? If so, also try deleting them in the main M2TW data folder.

Ok I tried out disabling the UAC and then re-installed the game and made sure to delete those files but I am still getting crashes in real time battles. Campaign works fine as long as I only auto resolve every fight but that is no fun

Have u deleted those files( Third_Age_3 and in virtual store) after uninstalling and BEFORE reinstalling the game again?

Okay, just to be clear, you deleted those two files in both the Third Age date folder and the main M2TW one? And you also tried disabling daylight savings time?

Yea deleted both and have DST disabled

Hmm, okay. It may be a hardware problem then. Try lowering the graphic options and adjusting screen resolution.

Also, make sure everything is up to date on your PC. Run windows update and check to make sure all your drivers are up to date.

There can be an issue when your CPU or even Graphics card overheats during the game, especially during the battles and it crashes to desktop due to their temperature limit. It happened to me twice during this current hot summer in my country and I solved it by getting two big 120 mm cooling fans to cool the things down in my PC. I just installed TATW 3.2 with no problems. Had few battles, tryied campaign for couple of turns with High Elves and Gondor and had no CTD or errors. Find some program for monitoring your PCs temperatures, like RealTemp which I use for CPU and Graphics card.

Ok thank you for your help. I think lowering some of my settings has helped somewhat and I will look into some fans to help with the heat because I have noticed it gets very warm

Sorry for not being more helpful, this is a common problem with overheating, it just CTDs u from the game without any reason.
Have u got any system.log report in your SEGA\M2TW\logs folder? If it is not there, there could be one in that virtual store. U can upload it by making it a rar or zip file, and put it in your post for the moderators to see if there is some info. Check the Posting Rules at the bottom of the threads to see can u post attachments, if u can, then u can upload your system.log file directly to your post.
