    Default Revolting Governors

I hope that characters that act as governors will be more important in Rome II than they were in Shogun II. Roman generals could start civil wars to seize power in Republic, but they are unlikely to secede from Rome. Governors in the diadochi kingdoms (for example) would secede if they felt that king was to weak or preoccupied to stop them, especially if they were located far away from the factions capital. It would be good if CA implements something like this since it was things like this that brought some empires to their collapse and made easier for other states to conquer them.

i agree but not a on a too large a scale - i dont want civil revolts every 5 turns.. it becomes dull if done over the top

Yes I agree. It should depend on their personality and loyalty to the faction leader. Since CA says that political aspects of the game will be expanded we could than have something like friendly or hostile characters in relation to our faction leader so we could assume which character is a potential threat.

Well historically there were many Roman rebellions, like in Capua. Even Julius Caesar was technically a rebel consul seizing power for himself. So I don't see why CA couldn't implement such a feature.

RSII has them in their mod as well, so we can always hope for a mod to do it for us if CA don't.

That is good, but what suggested is that some governors simply revolt and declare independence not march on factions capital to bacome new facton leader. For example, Diodotus I, satrap of Baktria did not march on the seleucid capital he simply seceded from them and start his own state.

Loyalty of armies and characters will be a major feature, I reckon. BI kind scratched the surface of it, although you could dispatch a grumbling general fairly easily by sending him on a one way trip to the bottom of the sea. I like the idea of facing down a full scale rebellion, but as others have said, only if it's rare. Proper gladiator uprisings would be pretty cool too and maybe even the introduction of Christianity - convert or persecute?
