Minor mistakes in Stainless Steel + Suggestions for Lithuania
To Whom it may concern :
There are some misleading mistakes on Stainless Steel (they are on the Lithuanian faction). Again, they are minor, but funny as hell. Some of this faction's princesses are given names like Dainius or Kestas which are Lithuanian male names. Also, Kestas is short for Kestutis (in a way like Dave is short for David and etc.).
Kestutis is also a widely known Lithuanian name, and I haven't seen it on many (if any) generals and so is Algirdas (one of the most renown Grand Duke of the XIV century who expanded Lithuania up to the Black sea, made campaigns against the Grand Duchy of Moscow and he ruled alongside his submonarch, Kestutis, who was in charge of defending the western borders from the Teutonic Order as well as raiding them. He was also Algirdas's brother.
There are more male names from history that should be given more attention - Vytenis, Vytautas, Treniota, Traidenis.
Also, the first Duke that Lithuania gets as one starts a game with this faction is Mindaugas and if it's the early era campaign then it's around 1080 AD and Mindaugas came to rule in around 1236-1240 as Grand Duke. This is a historical mistake, but I take it it is made so just for the sake of convenience.
Also, Lithuanians formed a tradition in the XIV century that whoever was the Duke of Vilnius was automatically the Grand Duke of Lithuania (it usually was passed from father to oldest son or brother).
Best regards,
Me c:

err, shouldn't this be moved to the SS forum as i see it's just suggestions? unless you'll make it a submod to fix them, which should still be moved in the SS submods forum

Another thing to change might be renaming Lettish Crossbowmen to Latvian Crossbowmen, Lettish is just german for Latvian written slightly different then it should be - correctly it would be Lettisch, so i dont see much point of having a german word in a game thats english.

If I get anywhere with my submod for BGR V, I'll definitely be looking at Lithuania. Revamping all family trees, localising the character names to the factions...might be I could use your input on Lithuanian names, Ermis. The main goal for the character names is to localise them to the faction (so, as an example, any characters in the French family tree will have French versions of their names, even if they were English - only possible for starting family trees, but it adds flavour and keeps things consistent).

That sounds like a great idea, but its a submod for BRG V, any possiblity you could make it a general SS submod?

Re: Minor mistakes in Stainless Steel + Suggestions for Lithuania
I'm pretty sure the family trees and revamped character name lists would work for SS 6.3 (late campaign specifically).
EDIT: Given the nature of my submod, most of the work won't be for SS 6.3/6.4 since it will be merged with BGR V files. Some of the files Byg modified, including campaign_script, export_descr_unit, and export_descr_buildings, are changed so much that it'd be far too much work to adapt my changes to standard SS 6.3/6.4. The names list, any faction icons, perfectly compatible with SS in general, but adding extra factions and balancing their rosters, removing units, editing traits...they'd be all based around the already heavily modified files.
