Default FOTS Traditional Dojo or Cadet School?

So I'm about to go Republic and all of my towns have been upgraded with Matchlock Tower and 3 units of Red bear and some still have 1 construction slot so I decided to build traditional dojo/cadet school for the free garrisons but I just don't know which one is better

    Line infantry rape samurai.

Although, line infantry is weak in melee.

Katchi units are amazing in defending castles. But you need some guns as well, to take advantage of the superior positions.

Get Cadet School and do your best to get a foreign vet. Once those line infantry get trained to near max rank, they'll easily beat the samurai in melee.

Don't even bother with matchlock kachi-complete trash.

Cadet School would be the better choice but I like to build up a traditional dojo and get some Yari ki. They are just amazing at raping the enemies lines since you cant form square formations in FOTS.

You could beat the entire game on legendary easily with nothing but Katana Samurai and Spear Levy if you want to play against the AI.

Siege Defense (Easiest) - Put Katanas as close as possible and facing wall, but not stationed at wall (or gunners will shoot them) where enemies will come up. When they make contact, Katanas will 3v1 or 2v1 each unit giving them a huge melee handicap (-10 I think). No unit or combination of units can overcome this (even a stack of 20 armstrong guns can be forced to use up their ammo by juking or kiting the shots with 1 or 2 sacrificial units of levy garrison). And Katanas cost the same upkeep per turn as spear levy lol...

Siege Attack - Spread your Katanas and Spear Levy in a wide circle. Run the Spear Levy up the to the wall (but don't climb) to take shots while at the same time shielding your advancing Katanas. Send your Katanas up, laugh as they tear apart the levy/line inf shooters, they may get in trouble from Imperial/Shogunate infantry and higher, but you are attacking from all directions and there will be a gap. Run any random unit through that gap to capture the castle. Town is yours.

Field Attack - Spread your swords out and attack from different directions, preferably in forest cover, use Spear Levy to run up to but don't engage gunners, they will block bullets for the swords. Katana Kachi eat gunners as well as cavalry for breakfast. Victory.

Field Defense - Hide your Katanas in a line in a forest in front of your general, when enemies get close and you hear "your hidden units have been discovered", charge, you win. If no forest find a ridge/hill gunners can't shoot over. Zoom down to ground level and look at where your katanas are facing, make sure you can only see sky and not the ground going up to them to make sure the ridge is a true blind spot. When the gunners are almost to crest the hill, charge. You win.

Note if you drag out the campaign until you see Guard infantry and Foreign marines, just take a province with smith and get the armor and melee attack bonus to your Katanas and you will be good to go.

Note 2 - this isn't really fun, it's more fun, but annoying, to use gun units
