Real Time or Pausing

How do you play Total war games? I for the most part use to Pause the game constantly just to keep my army organized and I could issue orders to everyone at once. I got so use to it that it made it almost impossible to play MP matches if I wanted to, So I decided to start playing the game in Real time an it almost feels like a different game. Things are so much more hectic and unpredictable, And almost every Melee turns into a click fest but it feels good to play the game fair now as it were. Even tho I can't sit back and enjoy the battles anymore. How do you guys play it?

I use it mostly when i zoom in alot during a battle to watch and enjoy the epic fighting

when i play zoomed out only i hardly use it

Never paused except when I really really need to get off the chair.

I rarely pause, usually there is no need, other times Im burning myself with my cigarette or have burned some furniture putting it out, there is always pee time

I pause so I can send my entire line into the enemy at the same time. It adds a lot to the dramatic effect

Ever since they added the space button to see the highlight of ur units line where there going saved so much time without pauseing now that u can see where ur units are going to be when u move them......So ever since then I never had to use pause and still enjoy the battles just becuase of that space bar!!! its epic!! I hope it stays in this one!!

Depends on the game- rarely use pause in MTW2 or older, usually to take a screen shot or to get some other work done. ETW on the larger battles is the only TW game I feel constantly a desire to pause as several times I've realized after 50% losses that a unit on the front line was in melee mode or when trying to set up the angle of attack the terrain makes it impossible to create a line so I have to pause to find the suitable angle in the terrain that allows a line. I find NTW interface the worst of TW series for a lot of little reasons- every unit shows "doubletime" when you assign orders but then walks instead. If I am not using pause sometimes I am not sure if I hit it 3 times to make sure they doubletime. Nothing like having your unit still 1/2 turned when they take several volleys when if they had double timed they would have been giving the volleys the other side.

Shogun 2 is the most simplistic battles in TW series since original Shogun I have only felt the need to pause the first couple times I played and was trying to figure out the archer firing arcs.
