Why do they not have the normal egyptian cards ? Kinda kills the immersion for me when they look Romans :S
Is it because they were ruled by the greeks at that time or something ? (red that on another post made by me)

I thought they looked hellenic :/
If that's the case then it makes sense because the Ptolemaic Kingdom was basically greek.
You're not playing Ancient Egypt, you're playing Ptolemaic Egypt.
lol, Egypt was Changed in the Proccess of hundreds of years, Adopting entirely new Hellanic culture, And regardless of them being Hellanic, The Cards you are looking at make little to no difference, its people with clothes on, you dont look like a goblin in one year and an orc in another, what are you expecting ancient egyptians to look like, aliens?
I think he expects them to be darker skinned than what they appear ingame. More like Middle Eastern people today than fairer skinned Europeans.
Egyptians Originated from Assyrians, Therefor are mostly white for the most part, and still are today, thats too stereotypical But I Understand since the ancients were definitely a different breed, and lived under much different conditions back then

Err your average egyptian would have probably looked like this:
Skin tone wise. That is far from white.
What definition of white would assyrians be? thats nonsensical.
By that I Meant in the Genes, chill
Ancient Egyptians were Caucasians.
But under Ptolemaic rule, they were not allowed to lead armies or hold high position so there would be no native Egyptian general.
This is correct. The Greek ruling class was strictly Greek. Although the King took the title 'Pharoah', and was depicted in Pharoanic garb, it is not necessarily so that all Greek class elites dressed or looked 'egyptian'. Alexandria was a Greek city, and the Ptolemies built Greek temples.

I am not sure about mixed people but I am sure that native Egyptian were not allowed to hold officer ranks.
Too bad ingame Ptolemaids' culture is Egyptian, which is not true since they were Greeks and "true" Egyptians did rebel against them.

I didnt know there was a white gene, the dutch alone are extremely diverse in that factor, but I guess scandinavians and egyptians are the same.By that I Meant in the Genes, chill
No, Caucasians were in Azberjistan and Georgia, Armenians maybe. Egyptians are far down from the caucasus.Ancient Egyptians were Caucasians.
Ancient egyptians were not of arabian stock but regional similiarities would give them a similar tanned skinned tone, mostly reddish tone if we are to believe the artwork left by them:
(Syrian, Nubian, Libyan and Egyptian)
So it would seem. But under Ptolemaic rule, they were not allowed to lead armies or hold high position so there would be no native Egyptian general.
Egyptians descended from Assyrians? That's new to me...
The ruling class would be from macedonian origins. The cards should apear greek though i could make an exception for Cleopatra.

My AAR for VGRII-AQUILAE
well the "big shots" Did look heavily egyptian (Such as Pharaohs, who wore Leopards skins, Eye Kohl, Henna, And cosemetics)
The ruling class was definitely Greek, but I'm sure many leaders of a lower stance would have been native Egyptian or mixed Greco-Egyptians. After all, the native Egyptians greatly outnumbered the foreign Greeks, explaining the numerous revolts that took place and also the intermarriages between them. The old Egyptian gods were also revered and respected by the Ptolemaic rulers. It wouldn't be illogical at all to incorporate the "real" Egyptian character models to be used as sort of a rare occurance for generals or adopted family members.
