So you've read the rules and information, and would like to join?

Well, this is how you do it;

1) Name
=> People want to know what to call your Character when they meet you. It can be as short or as long as you like.
2) Rank
=> The rank of your character. In GSTK, you start out as a freedman, the class of people just above the serfs and peasants.
3) Age
=> Age can be very important, especially in first appearances. A battle-hardened knight may react differently to a fresh-faced knight just earned his spurs than a venerable baron of many years. Your character will age at a rate of one year per real-time week.
4) Ethnicity
=> The people of England will react very differently to different people. Though they will be accustomed to seeing a man from any of the British Isles, they could well act with hostility towards the hated French, or become concerned in the presence of a Muslim. You will find that most characters will have Norman or English heritage.
5) Biography
=> This doesn't have to be long; three or four sentences can cover it all, in fact.. If you want to really expand and explore your Character, perhaps you may want to give him more of a back story. At any rate, this is where you explain what your Character or his family has been doing before entering the game.
6) Physical Appearance:
=>If you like, you can describe your character. This will make it easier for the rest of the players to interact with your character.

Bio: Born and raised in Essex by his mother, father, brother and two sisters, Gerard has lived a peaceful life thus far. He joined his father and brother as a woodsman when he was 14. Gerard married his childhood sweetheart when they were 15, and their lives continued peacefully for the next few years. Gerard and his wife had 3 healthy children, and things looked pleasant for their future, they were poor, and knew they always would be, but they were content. This changed suddenly when Danish pirates marauded through the countryside around the Thames, killing Gerard's father and brother, and capturing his sisters, wife and children to be sold into slavery. At the moment Gerard isn't sure of much, but he knows he will never find peace living in Blackmore.

Norman doesn't know much of his history, he was found lying in a tourney field wearing some irreparably damaged armour. Turned out he'd been knocked down during a joust and suffered memory loss. Few around him knew much other than his name -Sir Norman Guy - his horse had been taken my the victor, and all he has is the clothes on his back, a name and a mace. The one clue to his past is the sigil of the nesting heron.

However, when in 1153, Ranulf died of poisoning from wine that he had drank. Hugh, only age 7, was granted his fathers land and placed his mother's brother, Roger, as his regent until he is of age. He refused to grant his mother the regency as he was told she had been suspect to the poisoning of his father

Little known fact, Hugh's Maternal Grandfather, Robert, 1st Earl of Gloucester, in the known illegitimate son of King Henry I, making a Royal Bastard lineage in the House of de Kevelioc.

Roberts Father, Robert had become the First Earl of Derby, perhaps as thanks for his aid in ending the English Anarchy. Robert (II) was a peaceful religious man for most of his life, which did culminate with the Building of Meravale abbey in Warwickshire, but events would alter his life very rapidly in the early 1150's an unfortuniate accident had tossed Robert off of his horse while one day riding, He slipped into a deep sleep that lasted a little over two and a half days. When he awoke, week and frail the first word he said was Eureka following this Robert has had a bizarre journey across England, only halting at times to maintain his earldom, but signs show that he is reaching the end of his sanity, and His Daughter has began to tend to the daily affairs of the Earldom

Biography: Born at Hedingham Castle, Essex, in 1115, he is the eldest son of Auvrai de Vere II, baron of Hedingham, and his wife Adeliza de Clare. His grandfather, the first Auvrai de Vere, came to England after the Conquest and held land in Essex and Berkshire. In May of 1141, Auvrai II was killed by a London mob; by that time, his son had already become count of Guines in right of his first wife Beatrice (after divorcing her in 1145, however, he lost his title and territory on the continent). After his father's death, Aubrey was created the 1st Earl of Oxford by the Empress Matilda, though the title has been confirmed by King Henry II.

Biography: The bastard son of a minor Norman count in Sussex and his Saxon farmer-mother, Edwin was, and indeed is, incredibly lucky in life given his illegitimate birth and poverty-stricken background. Indeed, he still would be tied to the land as a serf, where it not for the fact that his mother become his father's most favourite mistress - even beyond the affection he felt for his legitimate wife! As such, Edwin's childhood was a confusing mix of backbreaking menial farm labour, and pampered education in the court of his father. This surreal lifestyle surprisingly made Edwin a well-rounded and generally pleasant individual, with both Anglo-Saxon roots and mannerisms, but with a touch on Norman culture and class. The tragic death of his mother several years ago sent his Norman father into quite a depression, which finally resulted in his death several months ago. His legitimate son took over the reins of rulership, and he particularly detested his illegitimate half-brother. Thus, Edwin found himself kicked off his land not one month ago, and has now fled with everything he has left to London, to seek a new life in England's fair capital.

BIO: Tybalt is a young man with the personality of an aged coot. He prefers tactics and logical moves rather than sports such as joust and tournaments. He gained the Barony he now rules when his father died to due to eating raw pork. He was not as prepared as he wishes he would have been, but he tries to make due. He keeps his younger brother, Carver, close to him as he is the heir. They are very close since they are barely a year apart, and are more like twins than anything else.

A ship brought him to London, where he now seeks fame and fortune.

Biography: He was an illegitimate son of Philip of Loo, son of Robert I, Count of Flanders and Gertrude of Saxony, He was a claimant in 1119 to the title of Count of Flanders but lost the claim to Charles the Good; and again in 1127, when he lost to William Clito. The chronicle of Galbert of Bruges attributes his failure to his illegitimate birth. He sought the title again the following year (1128) after William Clito's death, but lost to Thierry of Alsace, who banished him from Flanders in 1133. After his banishment, William arrived in England with but a few of his loyal retainers and very few expectations of himself. After time he rose through the ranks in the English political scene and he became King Stephen of England's chief lieutenant during the English civil war, where he became intimate with a lowly peasant girl during the many campaigns, eventually becoming a father to a bastard daughter. Now he merely consolidates his position as Earl as he maintains his fief ready to pass on to his heir.

Son of a Scottish smith and his wife, he has lived in castles and towns all over England. he was never suited for the redundant life of a castle serf, and so moved out at a young age after his mother and father's death of a flu, after they were forced to work despite their ilness to meet the Lord's quota. Even since he has fought and served as smith for free companies and armies looking for swords to hire. He is a skilled swordsman who despises the noble class as men who relly on the work of others to remain above them. In the same way, he is resentful of the church and looks down on priests and other religious folk.

The tragedies of his past and the horrors of man have turned him into a stern, cynical man.

6) Physical Appearance: He is a middle sized man, some would say even short. He is however broad of chest and arms, and enjoys to carry either a longsword of a battlehammer to combat. He has long dark hair and small grey eyes, with a dark goatee and a thick mustache. He wears simple clothes, adapted for travelling and and cold weather, with thick leather boots and gloves, as well as furs on his shoulders, most notably a bear's hide that we wears as a cape, one that he boasts to have killed several years ago.

Bio: The eighth out of nine sons to the Knight of Liré, a minor town in Anjou, and his peasant wife, Dardaine stood to inherit nothing from a family that already possessed very little as far as nobles went. Not that this bothered him much, as he spent his childhood pulling pranks on the townsfolk with his brothers and getting away with it thanks to his father's dominion over their tiny fief, and his teenage years were spent getting piss-drunk, joining bar brawls and bedding the village girls (often in that order). Only recently has he really taken a good look at the obvious benefits of high status and gotten it into his head to try to climb up the social ladder, leading him to leave Liré in search of better prospects - and, undoubtedly, better alcohol to guzzle, better beds to sleep in and better-looking girls to sleep with.
