Well... time for the sledge hammer... JUST KIDDING!
burn your files that you want to keep to cd/dvd or transfer to another computer, and then reformat that mutha. (just put your windows cd in and follow the directions for a complete erase and re-write)

go to the cmd window, and then type msconfig, and then just disable the program from the start up programs. It usually works.
Try other virus killers, like Kaspersky. Be sure to run the anti-virus prog when the win is in reduced mod....
It must be a worm rather than a virus.
all these sound like good ideas.... but at the end of the day... you always end up using THE REFORMAT HAMMER!!!!

hope the antivirus i mentioned isnt the same thing as the last guy mentioned.
also this is why you need to backup your files in case you actually do have to use the reformat hammer, it doesnt affect whats important.
have you tried completly wiping your hard drive rebooting i think it is (im not sarcastic i just do it when i get a bug on my computer and cry when i lose all my mods and sprite sheets >_<)
Do a "boot-time" scan!
Often times, a virus scan cannot delete a virus because it is acting as a process, which means it is being used by Windows. In order to over come that, you have to make your anti-virus software schedule a "boot-time" scan.
lolz about half the people in this thread suggested that very thing, though i would never do that to my own comp, there are too many settings i have that i have forgotten what they are or how i got them and if i reformat it would be like starting over as a noob.
that sounds rather harsh doing all that for just a bug
i usually restart my comp and try to ignore it until it takes 15 minutes to load up my comp and my old q3 demo stops working becuz theirs no ram
anyway ive just scanned my comp and found 30 viruses and its only 1/6 finished scanning
i hadnt upgaded my anti virus since 2002 and ive just dled the free anti virus i mentioned above
