Don't think that quite makes any sense whatsoever.
Have you heard somewhere that Barbarians will charge without orders on occasion in Rome 2?

I hope so, did they ever do so in Rome 1 ? I only ever played as the Romans :L
i liked the idea of may charge without orders, but i never actually experienced it. All my men always did what i told them. And i played with those sorts of units fairly extensively.
You can use it against an AI enemy, park in front of his line and stare at it until a single unit suddenly charges at you unsupported, works good when enemy tries to block entrance to city.
Only saw it a couple of times in Rome and med2. Actually wished it had happened more often, would have added a nice little piece of authenticity and randomness
Impetuosity isn't just a trait of barbarians, knight formations could be provoked as well.

This was a cool feature, it made your troops seem a little more human. Although when it did happen to my troops it was when it was the last thing I needed![]()
They should make it more likely to happen, perhaps make it based on certain factors, like enemy taunts or odds of a battle(if your troops are very likely to win, they will be confident and may charge). In my countless hours of playing Rome I have experienced the charge without orders maybe once.
Also, don't limit it just to barbarians, there was a battle where one of Caesar's legions charged prematurely, and it almost lost the battle for him.
Perhaps there could be degrees:
"Unprovokable Stone Faces"
"Could potentionally charge without orders"
"May charge without orders"
"Often charge without orders"
"Likely to charge without orders"
"Will charge without orders"
"Out of control seeing red and absolutely must charge without orders"
It's kinda fun, like herding cats, and then just try to steer them in the general direction you want them to go, as your more disciplined troops guard the flanks and mop up leftover resistance.
Eats, shoots, and leaves.
oh god I hated those troops, they always charged enemies and got butchered whenever staying put or marching to another position was a better option.
Although that admittedly might change if the barbarians can actually compete with the Romans instead of having elites who get steamrolled by Legionary Cohorts.
I think if your troops are untrained fresh recruits charging without orders in some cases makes alot of sense.
I dont want to see my elites charging unless I order them too thats for sure
I understand this might be an issue with gallic/barbarian factions due to the warrior culture, and I'd agree that some of the recruited units might charge without orders and that the more elite barbarian units should stay put. I'd think the romans wouldn't have to deal with "charging without orders" (save perhaps certain auxiliary units) because the legionaries know that disobedience would result in harsh punishment (whipping etc)
You saw it a lot more often all the way back in Med 1. My knights or religious fanatics would often charge in without me telling them too.
and plz make the "charging without order units" much harder to restrain, it makes more sense that they cant be stopped when they are going crazy, and I believe this can add another level(provocation) to game play
