I'd love if these returned, always one of my favourite units in the original game.
Units I don't wanna see are those flaming pigs, I mean just what on Earth.
l believe flaming pig head catapults would make a great addition to the game.

I think head hurlers would be good in prehistoric tw though.
I just think that head hurlers aren't very realistic............

How do you train head hurlers? It should require you to sacrifice some of your population to get the heads first.
These units deserve to be in the Fantasy Total War if they ever make it. Rome II? I don't think so. The community has moved on and most people want historical "authenticity" as that one CA guy likes to put it.
There were enough historical crazy things that if CA does their research, I am sure the game will be full of surprising little details and units. I still wish they would go 100% full on gore and naked warrior mode, and put in some of the really surprising things that were around back then, but I know they wont. Here is for heads hanging from banners and battle standards, since I think those are in Roma Surrectum 2, which makes me want to say they are accurate.

War is peace.
They're as realistic as Yubtseb's.

Most of the units in old vanilla rtw had a realistic background , they where used at least once on field or attested the behaviour , Ca probably picked after some experts sugestions some small cool factor units to add spice to the game , regardless of their real continuative utilization on field .

There may have been head hurling, but as full fledged recruitable unit ready to hurl several heads on the fly probably not.
This would be more or less something gained through fighting experience, such as a chevron, but in this special case the unit gains heads.
