Please do not cloth Romans in blue or green

In Rome I the Julii had red tunis but the Bruti and the other one had blue and green respectively. Can we please not have these colurs in Rome II. Don`t know if there is there is more than one Roman faction. barbarian Invasion colours were OK though.
irl all wollen Roman tunics etc were dyed Rose Madder-a sort of dull deep red.

I think Marius made a dark, dull, deep red the standard color for tunics for all legionaries. In any case, the devs already said there is only going to be 1 Roman faction, so little chance of them being green or blue when we've already seen them in red.

No offense Jack Lusted, but I disagree with the red tunics here. Greater part of evidences we have, accounts, frescoes (see Statillii, 1st cent BC, III cent BC tomb in Esquilino hill, battle scenes in Roman National museum, Palestine frescoes etc. ) findings about tunics at the time of the Punic wars, report that the colors varied from white, dirty white/light brown to the grey. Red tunics were not that common and mostly tending to rusty red. That would explain also why, according to the same Roman historians, lots of times the Romans in battle confused the friends for foes and vice versa. See Carthaginians.

Not all Romans had red as uniforms, differint leagions had differint markings an colours. Pluss some Romans did have yellow shields and tunics.

They should be white or light blue, dye was a comedity as far as I know and I dont think a red tunic was all that common (more so than green at and dark blue at anyrate though :/)

If they used dye at all. It's certainly possible that many legionaries went into battle with plain grey or white wool.

Red was the colour of war for Romans. Mars was the god of war. It's not like Hollywood just randomly pulled a colour out of their ass.

Actually I think you will find it is. But in this case hollywood pulled it out of the ass that artists had when they completely took a guess at early legion colours.

Cheap plant dyes were readily available. The main difference between a cheap dye and an expensive was 1. brilliance 2. duration dye maintained color 3. rarity, some colors were more difficult to achieve than others- hence the dyes from sea snails famous from Tyre.

They don't choose the colours because that's what CA thought they wore, they were chosen randomly because there was a design decision to have faction colouring. The screenshots show them to be rather toned down compared to the rather garish ones of Rome I, but if you don't like them I'm afraid it's been part of the game since the beginning and it's unlikely to change.

Its quite ing obvious that there is only one Roman faction this time and the colour is blood red. FFS just look at the ing screenshots. Waste of bandwith.
