The minimum required specs will be the same as those of Shogun 2: Total War

Same or similar minimum specs, specs required to max the game out with good FPS will probably be the next gen of components released next year.

There are better graphics cards for the price of that!

Besides, I have a GT 630 4GB that runs shogun 2 on ultra.

but with GTX 670 you'll have a guarantee you are ready for Rome2

(and I don't think so that play at max Rome2 you will need something better then 670 or new generation cards)
(of course who can or want to spend £450 for high end cards no problem, better for him but what i was reading,670 is better choice then expensive 680 )

I was probably going to upgrade my 965 to a i7 and my 6950 1gb to a 7850 or 7950 3gb. Hopefully that will max RII.

You'll need a beefier GPU than for Shogun 2 definitely. CA has said they've modified the Warscape engine so that it's not so CPU demanding. So for those who JUST scraped through Shogun 2 on Ultra/High, time for an upgrade
