There was a satisfactory amount included in Rome 1, but with Rome 2, I really think they have the opportunity here to add a whole lot more.
It would be great to see some battles from different eras, not just the timeline depicted in the grand campaign. So maybe something like:
Early era historical battles - Greek/Persian wars (Thermopylae, Marathon, Artemisium + Salamis (thanks to the naval battle ability), and maybe also Plataea), and some of Alexander's battles (Siege of Tyre would be amazing now that there's the ability for a naval/land siege. Gaugamela and Hydaspes would be stunning as always).
Middle era historical battles - During the Republican days, so some battles from the Punic Wars (preferably the second), conquest of Gaul etc. Maybe the battle of Silarus River (Spartacus' last battle) and Pharsalus too (Pompey vs Caesar).
Late era historical battles - During the days of the Empire; so I'd hope there would be a better version of Teutoburg Forest, and the addition of Watling Street, among others
The ability to choose which side you want to play as would be a bonus.
I know this is way over the top, but I sure hope CA includes more historical battles this time around. Such a mode has been on a decline since Rome 1. What do you guys think?
