    Icon12 Fix Cavalry Fighting!

    I know nobody can tell how exactly cavalrymen fought in 300BC, but they're anything but riders sitting on idle horses and stabbing each other to death - which is really dull to watch, unlike infantry fighting. They're supposed to be moving all the time, maybe somewhat similar to chariots in RTW, but with reduced pushing effect. If they cannot move for some reason, the cavalrymen should dismount and continue the fighting on foot - it happened several times in classical age!

    Watch any movie with cavalry in it and you'll understand what I mean. Make it like real please!

    In the "De Bello Judaico" by Flavius Josephus we find a complete description od the Roman cavalry : they were equipped with 3 javelins, long swords (ensis and later the spatha) and oval or exagonal shields , the use of javelins by cavalry is attested in many source, also Caesar wrote that the Briton charioteers throw darts and then dismount to fight on foot

    Great idea, and i develope it bit more:
    If you choose light inf/skirmisher unit similtaniousely with cav unit, they move exact same speed, cav moves SLIGHTLY slower, and light inf bit faster. This also happened many times. (infantry running with cav)
    And about dismounting in middle of fight, i like idea, and if cavalrymen lose their horses, they join nearby light infantry/infantry squad.

    I agree. Great idea. Like my idea of the lance breaking.

    xyston breaks, and kontos is one-shot weapon which has to be resupplied after charge - or maybe just rotate the rows in cavalry unit, so if you have 6 rows the ammo may be 6, because only the first row counts when charging.

    Nice idea, I hope that they have this on mind. If they can make arrows stuck in the shields, they can make lance braking too

    Maybe xyston-wielding cavalry should be able to dismount and and fight as a spear-unit, and maybe elite horsemen should be able to form something like a phalanx
