Please improve the mechanics of an ambush
I'm sure everyone here has been ambushed at some point and found their army being assaulted (without set-up time) by an entire army standing in a grassless field.
I know it can be tricky since you can't really pre-define ambush points in every single region, but it just looks stupid when my army is marching in a column and suddenly 1200 gallic infantry are standing 20 paces away.

Re: Please improve the mechanics of an ambush
It WON'T Happen enough to worry bout .. WHY? because we have roads straight from one settlement to the next, and the AI will just hop in their caddi and cruise down route 66.
Terrain / wilderness / choke points will mean zip!

Re: Please improve the mechanics of an ambush
yea i got ambushed a couple times and i either got defeated and my whole army got destroyed or i won a hard victory with two units left though if you have a general with the ambush trait (i usually do it for the night attack ability) you're able to see your opponents army formation before they start pounding on you but you still can't move but at least you know where they coming from... though they should set the armies further apart from each other but then the ambusher won't have any real advantage so i say keep it as it is no matter how frustrating....
