Default BGR - AI is held to the same rules?

Through my time playing with vanilla, I noticed that the AI often would cheat, usually form of being able to maintain and recruit multiple full stack armies while only holding 2-3 cities (not castles). Does the same thing happen with this mod? Because it's very difficult to field armies without going into the red, if the AI can just conjure money, that's just not cool.

The AI conjures money whether or not you have BGR. Take a look at the base SS economy script.

Lots of players are under the illusion that the ai cheats with money bonuses, but the main need for the ai to have money bonuses is because of all the human player bonuses, or cheats if you prefer, that are so seldom discussed.

What are the human player bonuses? Well I'm always banging on about them. Just think about it. You should not have much trouble identifying a few dozen.

Total war games are not designed to be lost by the player, suffice to say that it has taken 7 years to develop a mod that would enable the player to lose a game.

Later versions of BGR do remove masses of money from the AI, but at the same time it offers other challenges for players. Simply removing the money and doing nothing else would give a difficulty level below that which a novice would enjoy.

BGRII just offers a bit more challenge. It has no effect on money.

BGRIV-E offers more challenge and effectively does the same thing as giving the ai money, i.e. it makes the player work for his money. But this version does not remove ai bonuses from SS.

BGRV Removes most ai money bonuses and the free extra army bonuses, but it also makes the player work much harder, largely due to the removal of player bonuses and exploits along with adding some mental challenge. The benefit here for the player, regarding AI money, is that he can wage economic war which was not possible with the ai money bonus method. It also provides the player with more adrenelin, as the fear factor starts to kick in when you think you may actually lose.

Ah, alright, I see. The AI also has que times for troops?

And here's another question that's probably been asked before, where's a manual/guide to how the treasury works? I don't understand where all of my money's going. The finance scroll says "Projected profits: 12000", but I'll only receive maybe 3000. I understand that this is going to the generals, right? So how do I tax them?

I don't know which version you are using. Yes the money is going to the generals own purses. BGRIV & IV-E manual is on the BGRIV page of the BGR thread and the BGRV manual is on the BGRV page. The manual can tell you better than I can here. If you still have questions after reading that then feel free to ask again.
