MSN Messanger Personal Message Problem

One day quite awhile ago I changed my personal message on msn (personal message #1), and then later changed it again (#2). The next day the personal message #1 was stuck there, so I changed it back to #2 and the next day after signing in it was #1. Just today I disconnected from the domain of computers in my house and #1 was gone, and no personal message was in sight. Then I filled in the blank (#3), and was happy. Then I changed it again (#4)! However, when I next signed in I found #3 was there. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling MSN Messanger, getting Messanger to forget me and also signing in and changing the message on other computers, all to no avail. My display picture and name also remain the same.

Can somebody please tell me if they have expierienced the same problem and try to help me with mine. The messanger I have been running was first 8.0 Beta and then 8.0.

I am thinking there may be a file on my computer with the information there. Can somebody tell me where to find it???

Hmm, well I know that the personal message only stays the same on one account; change Computer Account or PC and it will be either blank, or changed to one you earlier entered on that account/ PC!

I have this problem also. I am using version 7.5.

Me too, I also sometimes cant get rid of my DP. You just have to delete your personal message, thats what I do. Its rather annoying, as you often sont notice it for a while. Just click in the personal message box, then press delete or backspace.

I just very recently got into the MSN messenger game. So, MSN messenger has morphed into Windows Live Messenger?

Live messanger is probably the Vista version of msn, as in itll probably be the one that ships with vista whenever it comes out. Does have a rather classy look about it - but ive always found the little adverts at the bottom a bit annoying. Its like theyre not even trying anymore, sometimes all it says is "Get a loan!"..pfft

Well the MSN live seems to sort out most of my problems. But one thing, all my contacts seem to use coloured names which dont show up, its annoying as thier names are full of symbols.

Hmm try installing MSN Plus? If that works with MSN Live...
