RTW gold edition not launching

so i reinstalled my RTW gold edition and whenever i try to start either BI or vanilla it doesnt start just comes up with rome total war has stopped working

it used to work but now it doesnt its pretty strange

i have a dvd version of the gold edition
and im running windows 7 home premium 64 bit

Are you logged in as Administrator?
From the icons, do you have them set "Run as Administrator" and "XP Compatibility"?

i am the administrator on my PC but i have tried runnign it as admin anyways with no luck and iv tried running it in compatability mode for XP sp2, sp3

It could be just a bad install.

iv reinstalled it several times like iv deleted all the files and cleaned the registry after each uninstall and yet i still cant launch it

well i got it working finally but now when i go into the multiplayer lobby it randomly drops saying gamespy connection lost and after that it drops without saying any error and iv got it non steam and iv uninstalled hamachi completely but it just does this wierd thing alot and it gets annoying
