I'd suggest to CA that, in all honesty, the best thing they could do for the game would be to remove the Romans/SPQR/etc as a playable faction in the campaign.
Before everyone heckles me, I'd like to think that this would add some diversity to the game, forcing the infamous Roman fanboys to play as someone else and perhaps expand their proverbial horizons.
Indeed, as AJP Taylor famously stated:
So, I would formally propose to CA to remove the Romans as a faction except perhaps in Custom Battle; the Grand Campaign should have a passive, non-aggressive (tautology woot) faction that won't try to expand. The Romans were well soft, they don't belong in any video games
I honestly think the resources freed up by abandoning Rome would be much more useful if they were reallocated to much more important factions, such as the Medians, or Bartix.
I honestly think this is the logical next step for Rome 2: Total War.
Does anyone else agree?
Thanks for listening.
