    Default Free People issues

So i decided to scout out the british isles and try to colonize there but
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

there's an absurd amount of rebel stacks there, is this normal? Any suggestions on how to deal with this? Also is there a city on ireland? I couldn't find one around there.

I usually have an army go in and kill one or two stacks, then retreat to retrain and repeat til done.

As for the city on ireland, I've found one when playing as Galleci, but not one when playing as Rome.
I think the Rome map is slightly different from every other map, to make room for the Roman Rebels.
So, if I'm correct, there's one for everyone else but Rome.

A way to check is bring a ship close to the shore (so you get a visual on a bit of it) and then right-click the bit of the coast you've discovered, that should tell you the region name.
If it's Terra Incognita, then no, there's no city there, if it's something else, then yes, there's a city there.

Ok so this has been an issue with RS2, but I'm working on some changes to the campaign that should reduce the chances of this happening....ultimately this is about reducing starting treasury for free people and controlling their income better in the late game.

I'm also working on some other changes to unit stats:

    1) bigger spread in costs between elite and non elite units so there's less spamming of elites
    2) the AI will now retrain its units
    3) earlier armor and weapons bonuses for the AI in effect this matches the kind of strategy that a player would adopt

The net effect is that AI armies should be fewer but more challenging due to upgrades, retraining of experienced units, and due to being full stacks. This is certainly true for zero turn test campaigns, just need to make this true for one turn.

I'm hoping that we'll be getting into some internal testing of this and other changes within the next week

Suggestion for dealing with all those stacks: Du Silence advice and a night fighter general to fight against just one army each time

It is worth noting, however, that, if based upon history, it should take you about 100 turns to pacify Britannia.....

You are not wrong - except it should be even longer (but Spain does have an actual Faction, of course).

The Romans are 'in Spain' at the beginning of our simulation - nearly 200 years later at the Augustan reforms (where we should theoretically finish) there are some 7 legions there still!

I have been wondering about this and perhaps suggesting that the player should be 'given more to do'.....

Added a screeny - Should Vareia be included? I plan on adding more stacks by besieging the regions with a few cheap units

I thought this was intended, i kinda like it. - Also, when i make regions rebel and proceed to leave them alone, in peace, the same thing happens, many stacks.
This also happens in the middle east to the rebelling Seleucid regions (if they rebel at all) that don't rebel to a specific faction but the free people, making it kinda impossible for the Seleucid's to get them back i suppose.

As said i don't mind it as that leaves me with something extra to do post-marian when my veteran legions turn into killing machines - So where i can i tend to delay their conquest.

edit; - Not sure if related but - If i bribe free people as Rome, i do make them very wealthy, it is costly. Not so much for the rest of the line up, where it is a lot cheaper to bribe.

Speaking of Free Rebels and such,
@Tone, any plans to do something about the Rebel stacks the Cimbri has to deal with? I've noticed they have quite the hard time going south in the campaign.
