Default Senate debates / king's room

Remember the good ol' Throne Room from STW? Would it be by chance that we could have a sort of return of the Throne Room into R2TW?

Imagine taking part in the Senate debates, or assisting the king when dealing with a diplomat. I think it would add a touch of sophistication to the game.

    Thoughts?

Didn't it return in Shogun II?

It was very very little, it was just the diplomat/ashigaru/general shaking his head or shifting his body stance.

I'd like that. You have to support certain factions in your court and certain factions have relationships with each other. Perhaps supporting certain factions will give a boost to your economy or military.

I agree, it would be a nice implementation to the game where you can more actively enjoy your ruling role

It would be great to see factions in the senate, for example romans should have optimates vs populares thing goin on. What i'd like to see is a picture of the senate floor with how many seats each faction has (sort of like what they did in eu:rome). Your generals and possibly even agents if they are of high enough status (that depends on what kind of agents we actually get) would all be senators and that would be represented on the senate floor tab.

From there, they can take it anywhere, with possible civil wars and revolts and different missions depending on what faction in the senate holds the majority.

Playing as Rome, I would like to see the Senate's reaction to diplomacy or our choices, perhaps when we get a dilemma have them react when we look at an option (how prisoners would change what they said when you hovered over exterminate, ransom, and release in Med II). It tould give you a chance to see how your policies play out with the Senate, and if you include the tribunes, with the people.
If you rep me, leave your name. I'll look more kindly on your future transgressions.

    +1 to this one.

It would add serious depth to the game and it would be a very nice extra touch.

Now, I think that is an excellent idea!

All good ideas, feeling the tension in the senate room and actually voting on issues is a must. Being able to buy / persuade senators to your viewpoint would also be nice.

Now this is a feature I would love to see. Too bad these videos didn't return in Shogun2.
But with 50+ factions and various different cultures in Rome2 such videos would be too much work I guess.

If you have dilemmas regarding the development of specific characters within the senate, that would be interesting.. I suppose some things that occur could be random depending on that character's personality/traits. Maybe if a general fails enough, they'll completely remove him from his position!

Make the senate a place were we can all log in with a character and have real debates like on TWC except via voice chat.
