Some forty minues ago I was actually thinking about total war starting right at the end of prehistoric times and going all the way up to 20th century and how cool that would be, first picking a broader group, like semitic, indo european or whatever and then as the time goes by it all starts to narrow down until you become a nation in 18/19th century.

Cool sure if done right and reasonably slow.. would probably end up as 2 terabyte game that nobody can even run, so hold that thought for 10 years

it has been over 15 years ago when i read those things . another good book is ranks of bronze about a roman legion being taken by aliens to fight aginst low tech enemys that there so call high state and galactic empire want let them fight using mondern weapons against natives with spears. but ill see if i can look those books up
