    Default Roma Surrectum installation error

I'm sorry if this is the wrong place to post this, but I've had a great deal of difficulty installing RSII. I got ye olde javelin-rider error report, so I followed the instructions in the Known Problems, and...still with the elephanting. I'm on Windows 7, downloaded through Torrent, my Avast AntiVirus has never been on the ballistic side, have RTW patched to 1.5 (Lacking any of the expansions). This fourth try I reinstalled RTW out of Program Files(86), downloaded RSII into a separate folder then cut and paste it into the RTW folder. I noticed in the video that your RSII file that you used to launch it has .exe at the end. Mine lacks that, so I tried adding it and got the same response. When I try editing the destination or target of the shortcut, it either goes with the javelin-rider or tells me that the target is not valid. When I cut and paste the RSII files into the RTW directory, is it in a specific folder? I've just been putting it along side all the others in the RTW folder itself. The launcher is in C:Activision:Rome Total War: launcher. I'd appreciate some assistance.

Hello, and welcome to the forum.

Your launcher doesn't have .exe at the end because Windows by default hide the extension.
I don't know why they do that, but it seems pretty stupid and dangerous.
You can re-enable it following this guide.
    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/w...ons?SignedIn=1

Once you've done that, you'll need to make sure that it's Roma Surrectum II.exe, and not Roma Surrectum II.exe.exe.

If it still doesn't work, could you please post a screenshot of your C:\Activision\Rome Total War folder please?

Turns out my computer was running off with the .exe. Even with that added, it didn't work. I figured it must have been because I fiddled around with the settings too much, so I decided to reinstall. Five seconds before installation was complete, my computer blue-screened. I got knocked into some nebulous state in between installation and being able to reinstall.
Eventually, I RTW working, and this time, RSII had an .exe file.
I've only played for twenty minutes or so, but RSII was definitely worth the hassle. Hannibal Barca didn't know what hit him. (To be fair, neither did my first army that I barely got to know...)
Muchas gracias for the help, Paedric.
