Default How do I change victory conditions?

Playing Darthmod RTW all day... and most of last night heh. Quite fun, I like the changes alot.

    Except 1.

I hate the victory conditions.... I can be doing quite good and then some empire on the other side of the map who I have never seen or even talked to, beats the game.

I really, really, really hate that ><

I want to modify victory conditions in 1 of 2 ways...

I want to either mod it so that every empire has to hold Rome to win.

    Or

Increase, drastically increase the # of territories needed to win.

I don't like my game being cut in half because an AI who has not affected me at all suddenly conquers 1 more territory.

Hi Vesa Well I changed Darth's victory conditions (data/world/maps/campaign/imperial campaign/descr_win_conditions - Great work Darth :original: ) for my personal playing style. Of course Romans need to conquer 50 provinces + Rome (that's hardcoded cuz of civil war and all), but I made that other factions should hold/capture 30 regions (to make it fair among non roman factions; 30 provinces=about the size of Alexander's empire - AI mostly will need to confront you in order to win - enough victory provinces imo) including Darth's modded specific regions + my own specific regions.

This way I'm able to use high tech units late in the game. Note that in these victory conditions protectorates doesn't count as your holding provinces, except for romans, I wonder Darth is it possible to make it otherwise?

In my edited file e.g. made Carthage to try to capture Spain also (besides warring against Scipii) - historically realistic; Germania now has an objective to capture Londinium to end that ceasefire bug; Greeks (esp Macedonians cuz they get crushed early) are very defensive and try to maintain their teritories first; Numidia's plans are to conquer Egypt to put more pressure on Ptolemaics, Armenia and Pontus are bitter enemies now, Parthia is greedy to capture Babylon from Seleucia and to restore the Persian empire; added more province objectives for Scytia to make it more aggressive etc. and other small attachements by me. Donno if it will work good for AI, does province objective order matter Darth?, have yet to test it, but in pre-campaign screen objectives seems to be included and ok.

Here's an attachment of my modified file, take a look, tell me what you think.
As always remember to back it up first and then examine it. Your suggestions are welcome plz And good luck playing DarthMod!

Ohhhhh! Modifying the file to suit my desires.

Can I modify these mid game, without corrupting it? Say I set certain victory conditions, can I then change them, load up the game and continue?

Basically I want to define it so that the only way I loose is by being destroyed, not by someone else winning first.

Made 50 provinces a victory condition for all empires-that should solve the problem.

I'm afraid changes doesn't apply for current campaign only new one .

Well imo 50 provinces (for non romans) are too much cuz you know DM is all about the challenge and for AI imo it's almost impossible to capture 50 provinces. To my mind 25-30 provinces should give you a worry/challenge that ypu could loose if AI lets say Egypt expands like crazy sometimes or you expand slowly, besides I get too bored capturing 50 regions Also as I said 25-30 provinces gives you an opportunity to use your factions top elite units, which is great
These were just my thoughts, suit your own playing style m8 Cheers :tooth:
