Start of Campaign alliances enemies

Is there supposed to be certain factions at war with each other at the start of each campaign early or late? I was just wondering as I reinstalled it but couldn't remember if everyone starts just neutral or not. IS there a small sub mod that makes it historically accurate of the time periods?

I Always do that in every Medieval II Mod i like to create my story where for example i put Genoa in War with Venice or the HRE at war with France with support of Spain and England while France is aid by Scotland and Denmark while the faction i chose is deciding which side to take ect.. Its good to use your imagination .

in terms of 1100, the general war / peace situation is..

Moors at war with Castille-Leon
Portugal was the vassal of Castille-Leon

Pope was at war with HRE (the HRE emperor was excommunicated in 1100)

Crusaders obviously at war with the Turks and Egypt.

Kwarezmids were vassals of the Seljuq Turks.

Byzantium was sorta still at war with the Turks.

The Cuman-Kiev situation was always hard to describe, in that some Cuman tribes were almost always at war with some Kievan Princes but a the same times other tribes were aliies to other Princes. (often through inter-marriage)
