When will the game end?

Hi there and first of all if anyone as already mentioned this i m sorry .


I was wondering if anyone has already thought when will the game end? I think a cool idea would be to go till the Fall of Rome instead till the begining of the Principatus as the last one did and as most the mods do.
It would be a major change through the game but i think the idea would be nice instead of having the game divided as we had with Barbarian Invasion. As i recall the game jumped from the first century to the end of the fourth. All those major changes in the roman army between those three centuries would be something nice to be seen.

I hope I have the option to continue my campaign as long a I want like in Empire. I hate Victory conditions, I want to build my empire as I want it, that's probably why I never enjoyed Napoleon as it was too linear. Though I suppose the technology would stop advancing at some point.

Yes after the victory condition..there should be never ending turns..so u can conquer whole map..slowly as u want...i don't like rushing with conquering cities because of turns

lol if you want someone can make a mod so that it stretches into the medieval period, only Rome hasn't fallen and the dark ages haven't come.

Lol your playing rome total war and its about 100 years after rome historically fell and you get the making the wind work message. Oh god the plague!!!

Really that's the way it should be, as it has been (excluding my lack of knowledge on ETW and beyond) historical events are spare at best, why hold up the game just to keep things in line with a ridged history we're not even following as players making our own histories?

But at some point it becomes boring. It could be interesting if factions can rerise like titles before, but if i fight the Pathians or Dacians 500 AD. it cant change that. Maybe instead an Addon that expand the campaign and add Reforms to Rome and new factions like the Goths ect. to the main game, so we can play throught it.

And the world was to small. If i have created the historical length of the roman empire i have nothing to do. I would like to have to defend it, but what will the Parthians do with their 3 or 4 Provinces or the Germans.
Also when you play Carthage, the Hinterland is empty or end of the map, but you should have problems and struggles out of this area.

At least we agree that a everlasting campaign would be enjoyable but at some point tiring. The idea was to be able to play since the begining of the game as we have already seen.since the II Punic war till the barbarian invasions. Getting our legions reformed to limittanei and comitatenses as well the rest of the army. I think nowadays this wouldn t be such a difficult task with all the technology but it would be a extensive campaign but on the other hand a enjoyable one. I like to conquer and create de Roman Empire and then fight again the parthians and the other barbarians and soo on but i would like to continue to do it till the time the Sassanid family overtake the Arsacid, know as parthians, i would like to defende the Provinces os Germania Superior, Inferior and soo on from the barbarians.

Maybe CA will do this since they still have a year to do some changes and introduce knew ideas that they think would be good fot the game development.

Another good idea would be to do the mini campaigns as we did in Napoleon. There are a tone of interesting campaigns that could be created.

In Shogun 2 conquering the entire map was somewhat difficult, but still possible. I hate when the enemy never advances or gives battle so that you have to siege them all the time.
