Consistent CTD's

I recently bought the Shogun 2 pack as a part of the Steam sale, and I am getting crashes all too frequently. No matter what I do, S2 will crash after 3-4 turns. Sometimes it will be while saving, other times when I press Clan Management/Diplomacy/Mastering Arts/Finances, or sometimes while load a battle. I'm becoming convinced that either my drivers aren't updated or that my computer is hopelessly unable to run Shogun 2. I bought my computer from a repair guy who was repairing my old comp that I gave up on. In hindsight, it probably wasn't the greatest of ideas but it runs M2TW and Empire on high-ultra settings without problems (thanks to the Radeon 6670 I got for ~$80).

Hmmm.... it doesn't slow down at all before crashing and I didn't suspect a lack of memory, but I'll give it a shot. I'll get back to you after I try it.
