LAN battle help?

I'm trying to play a LAN battle with my friend however, every time we join the lobby I can't see his name on the list but he can see mine. Any idea why this is happening? Also, when I try hosting a game and he tries to join it, a message pops up for him that says "no response from host".

Since this is a thread where you'll probably not get a response otherwise I'll try my hand at it. Be aware that I'm fishing in the dark here....

The first question - how is your LAN configured? Are you running through the OS, a router or attempting direct connect? If a direct connect - do you have cross-over cables?

The second question - How is your firewall configured? Are you sure all ports have been opened to allow M2 out or in on your system? As he can see you but you can't see him I'd guess an underlying port or TCP/IP problem.

The last question - what OS are you running and what OS is your friend running? If Vista or higher you might want to disable the UAC on both systems until you get a feel for where the problem is coming from. Good luck!
