Problem with download (v1.1)

Ive downloaded it, yet when i try to open in up or run it freezes and lags my computer, taking up all the cpu power. How can i fix this ?, thanks

Well first download 1.2 and its fixes, no point playing on an obsolete version. I believe it also helps prevent crashes if you play it on the BI/Alex AI. Beyond that, I defer to the team and others who know more than I do.

can i just install 1.2 then ? i thought id need to download 1.1, then 1.2. I only have vanilla downloaded atm, rome gold with BI

You need to install 1.1 first. The torrent download works just fine, I also used it a week ago.

When i download should i be directing them to my directory ? at the moment its going to my downloads, then when i right click or double click on it it then all goes wrong

Depends on what you're downloading. If you're downloading the torrent then you can place it just anywhere, then open that file in a torrent program (bittorrent, utorrent or vuze or whatever). If you're downloading the .exe then you can just open that, direct it to where you installed Rome Total War and that should do the trick.

When you're installing 1.2 make sure you install it in the EB folder in your RTW folder.
