    Default Armies Rebelling

Playing as Rome 1-turn 2.5, my armies keep rebelling, its a bit of a pain tbh especially seeing as it takes ages to recruit them. Its not even to do with loyalty i don't think, one of my generals had 5 or so rings and rebelled. Is there any fix to this/is this normal/ how can i stop this happening again ?

After a few asswhoopings (gold chev 6+ star roman generals rebelling etc) i made it a rule to bench everybody that has 5 or less loyalty Their days of extravagant Germanic adventures are over!

If it's not 'Loyalty' per se - then look for the enemy Diplomats and employ Assassins. In addition, make sure those Generals have the Honest Advisor ancillary.

In all the tests so far I've only had this happen once or twice and only with small armies. It is also worth checking on Generals as they develop and spot bad traits - when it can often be a good idea to replace them. As noted above, I also select potential Generals mostly on the basis of Loyalty - and then keep an eye on it thereafter.

Pre-Reforms the Generals were honoured to serve and got more Loyalty; afterwards they were more fickle and that is reflected in game......

But generals rarely rebelled against Rome. In the mod it happens way too often it should happen once every 5 or 10 rules not every 2 rulers. I sorry but it doesn't accurately replicate the event which didn't happen every couple of years.

I'm sorry, I thought I said that. No big armies and only a couple of disloyal chaps in my experience. However, that's without the effect of bribes, which is really a vanilla 'thing' anyway, but does reflect the odd historical occurrence. However, if people are leaving their Generals with armies for more than 5 years, then beware.

In RSII, I'd actually be surprised if you had more than 5 Faction Leaders total in the entire campaign, whereas Imperial period FLs were indeed changed rather a lot!

Curiously I have been suggesting that we could think of 'smaller' but potentially more rebellions, perhaps if the new FL 'fails a test'; rather than the scripted 'big one'. If we could get Loyalty to work like that it may be more realistic, but perhaps not more challenging.

Not true. Marius, Sulla and Caesar all did it and were in their respective ways succeeded. Marcus Aemilius Lepidus and Catiline tried and failed. So in the years of the late republic it actually happened quite a bit.

Now, what would be very cool would be for your rebelling general and army to march on Rome. That would make it a real emergency.

Any way to work this into the script?

So id need to put generals in a settlement otherwise they rebel every so often ? fair enough, but im seemingly seeing this as abit too "realistic" and thus a pain to remember whos been where etc. Any idea when 2.6 is out, im waiting for that now until i start a new campaign, was going to download darthmod but i think ill stick with RS, really feeling a buzz now Rome 2 is announced !!!!

Speaking along loyalty. Why do my faction leaders seem to lose loyalty once they transition from heir to faction leaders? I personally pick young heirs with high management, high loyalty, and influence. By high, I mean like 7+ rating for each categories. But for some reason after they become FL, they steadily lose loyalty even when I never move them out of Rome. After less than a decade of ruling, he literally loses all of his loyalty rings. And along those lines, why do faction leaders even LOSE LOYALTY. Like what? How can one be tempted to rebel against his himself.... Because of this, for the past 100 ish years, I have never been able to use my FL as prodigious generals because I'm so afraid he'll turn against his own rule if I give him a legion to command.

And in before someone didn't read carefully and says pick one with higher loyalty as FL, please note I already said they always had high loyalty and it's only when they become FL they start losing it...

No matter what loyalty your faction leader has he will never rebel , no idea why he has to lose loyalty though, just ingnore his rating.
