    Default Triggering new_era event

    Hi folks,

I want to start a campaign where all of the High area units are available from the beginning, so I don't have to wait 80 turns before I can recruit them. I figured the easiest way would be to move the event "new_era_begins" in the descr_events.txt file from 80 to 1 time steps.

I'm playing late campaign, so the correct text file should be in mods/ss6.3/data/campaign/late/.../imperial campaign, right?

Well, it didn't work out, the event did not trigger even after 5 turns into the game... am I missing something?

I searched the forum a bit and found a thread where it is suggested to remove the event_counter condition for units in the EBD. I'd rather not like to do that as it is quite time consuming. So is it possible to actually make it work like i tried?

    Thanks for your help

You cannot edit your own posts until you have a certain minimum number of posts (25 or 50, not entirely certain).

Any changes you make to the descr_events file should be in data/world/maps/base/campaign/imperial_campaign, not in the data/campaign folders. Those files you find in data/campaign/late are used when changing your installation settings with the SS setup executable file, changes to them will have no immediate effect - they are installed to the correct place when you change your settings, and then they affect your game. Technically if you keep those changes and now set up your Late Campaign again using the SS_setup.exe, the modified descr_events file will be installed in the process and take effect the next new campaign you start (but in future, it's simply easier to modify files outside of the data/campaign folder, as it cuts out this extra step). Always make backups of any files before you modify them in the instance you make a mistake and it mucks everything up.
