Thas actually right ... Barbarian invasion made regress western tech and halted it for almoust 1000 years , roman technology was almoust comparable to the renaissence time... Without that gap in middle we would be more foward in tech evolution...

There is no such thing as "Dark Ages" anymore, if you're a student of history/archaeology anyway...

Well I can say that since Teodosius the games at the Flavian Anfiteatro were prohibited. Theodosius prohibited games wich involved people. You could still kill your slaves once they were still treated and seen as "muncipia". the Roman Empire did evolve and a lot of things that were seen and did in the Principatus aren't practised anymore.

But sometimes I'm thinking if romans rules to whole world so no other countries exists,no states,no kingdoms....only one roman empire...world should be safer.No wars..(maybe sometimes inside of empire could be civil war) but not like now...USA+Izrael against Iran(the newest one)...etc

Or in a feudal society similar to the Middle Ages. In the 3rd or 4th century large cities got fewer and fewer, more people lived on small estates distributed over the whole provinces. Economy became more agricultural leading to less education and knowledge.
Rome was not much of a progressive state instead a more conservative one. Atleast since it got an emperor.

Well as soon as Rome had conquered it's Empire there were more internal wars and civil uprisings as conflicts with foreign countries. We would have Christians slaying Jews and Pagans or vica versa, Legions fighting against each other to support their throne pretender and not taking care of civilians or the villages they cross.
