So I just Saw Immortals

Like the thread said I just saw Immortals and wasn't sure what to expect, I knew it was gonna be Just like 300 but in the end it really wasn't. I mean It had the same art style and what not and the fight scenes look nice but in the end I felt let down. It didn't really feel like anything happen I mean the butchered Greek Mythos and *spoiler alert*


in the end all the main Character did only made things worse , If he had never picked up a sword things would of been just find without him. I don't get why the gods made a big deal out of him, I mean The Titans got out because of him . The movie Just left me disappointed and made me wish I just watched 300 again rather then wasting my time with this one

I feel for you, I nearly committed suicide while watching the movie due to how bad it was.

Yeah it looked pretty crappy in commercials, like a less inspired rip off of 300, which wasn't even good to begin with. Not going to see it.

Never heard of it. I was half expecting a "300" sequel. Thank God I was wrong.

I don't understand why Hollywood always has to make up? I mean Truth is stranger then Fiction and if they would of just stuck to the scripted of what happen it would of been a much better movie. Why do the idiots of Hollywood the only ones to make movies

It's not their fault because of supply and demand. They provide to the people what the people demand to see, and if it's crap that they want it's crap that they're going to get. The ones who you should complain to is the general public.

I loved it. I loved 300 as well. But I guess that's my kind of taste in movies. Pure entertainment. Of which there was plenty. And by plenty I mean Freida Pintos butt and a lot of swordfighting in slowmotion!

Terrible movie but visually stunning.

The funny thing was, they made a big deal about that guy getting the golden bow and he never even did anything with it. Hell, the thing was only used like three times throughout the whole movie. It was an AWFUL movie.

I know right, he used it once and after that he lost it. He never even got it back, Then you have movies like Alexander which was very historically accurate and yet it was panned by the general public. I can't with this Generation, wake me up when the zombies attack.

Because it just being historically accurate isn't all thats required to make a good film. It's not even THAT historically accurate, its got some neat nods and moments that are more true than pop culture belief, but thats not much.

It was emotionally empty while trying to pander to cheep emotional responces (typical Oliver Stone). Instead of finding the proper mix for a good film (it was marketed, again as all Oliver stone films are, as an action-drama film) of historical accuracy and dramatic tension, it was mind numbbingly boring and dragged on FAR longer than it needed too in every scene. While it might have had glimpses of historical accuracy and cool moments, that isn't enough to forgive a 3 hour film in which a bunch of unlikable whining s parade about as unlikable whining s. Colin Farrel was such a piss poor actor as the LEAD that I struggled to pay attention to him every time he was in the scene. It's very possible to find a balance between the two, Alexander just failed to do so. I'm not surprised its critically and commercially panned, I honestly didn't hate it, but its by no means a good film nor a good docudrama. Again, an Oliver Stone film.

And on the immortals, it's Tarsem Singh, pretty looking, fast moving, emotionally empty, plotless action flics are what he's good at. And while it was pretty to look at and had some neat setpieces, the story was boring and dis-jointed at every major point and it looking pretty wasen't enough to let me ignore that. Typical Tarsem Singh, all flash no substance.

So yea, it sucked, predictably.

Moved to The Arts.

Saw it.

Everything looked like plastic.

Did not like it.

Isnt there a new 300 movie coming out next year? Battle of Artemisia/Artemis?

Yep, their even getting Frank Miller to write the script and a prequel comic. So... it's probably going to be 90% crazy again.

Weather or not its good or bad we'll see.

Immortals is such a horrible movie. Totally sucked.
