Accurate siege warfare
Alright so i hope CA will do something about sieges since they are such a crucial part of the period. A few things i have a problem with. First there were no embankments in RTW, large mounds of earth put next to the wall by the attackers that allows for an assault upon the walls, or even allows siege towers to reach the walls if the fortress is up a steep hill (avaricum). Also the sapping tactic was extremely rare and almost never used. There also need to be a lot more towers and ladders than in RTW where you only had a few. If you played RS II you know what im talking about. Now that you can command 20+20 stacks theres no reason not to have 10 siege towers at a city. Also now that we have enterable buildings it will be great to put troops in towers and on top of them, rather than just having a black hole like before. My biggest problem though is the rubble. In RTW you take down a part of the wall and all the rocks magically disappear, but this was not the case. Now were not going for total realism here, but should there not at least be rocks on the ground with a walking/fighting penalty for the attackers?- otherwise we have this situation where rocks disappear and cavalry strolls into a city which is very unrealistic. Also i want to be able to set down barricades , pikes, and tear down houses to make obstacles for the attackers (like plateians did against thebes). Also prisoners, important in the ancient world, if we take a city and people live i want to be able to use them for political/diplomatic machinations (important statesmen, politicians, their families and remaining cowardly troops).
I know the game is 18 monhts away, but here are a few things than should look at.
At the end id just like to say that i think blood needs to be added to the game, maybe even chopped limbs, that would let us paint the town red...........LITERALLY! (get the reference?

Re: Accurate siege warfare
Siege engineering was a rather important technology which sapping, embankments, artillery, siege machines, supplies, barricades and counter barricades, etc were all important. Hopefully CA will give some attention to other methods than just ladders and towers. If some armies and generals could specialize in this as well as further options appearing if the right facilities are constructed in cities. Ideally laying siege to huge city walls like Rome, Carthage, Thebes, Cartagena, etc would be very difficult or nearly impossible with only ladders. Starvation or access to better siege techniques would be necessary to conquer huge cities.
