    Default parthian naval forces

i play the pahlavan campaign and i am around 235 bc.
i have conquered several ports in the mediterennean however i cant recruit warships (the only ship type i can create is ''transport ships'').
this is because i havent developed my ports or my government type enough or the pahlavans for historical reasons cant build shipw?
if pahlavans have other options apart from the transport ships what other ship types are constructable(e.g. triremes, biremesetc)?

There is no other ships for Pahlava except transport.
Historically Parthians never developed any meaningful navy.

But you don't even need it. Just steamroll all the Asia Minor till all harbours will be yours anyway.
It's not that Ptolemaioi or Seleucids can do much to stop you.

Furthermore, I believe that Rome must be destroyed.

Sounds great. Yet one of the Pahlavan victory conditions is to destroy or outlast the Seleucids. It's around 205 BCE and they've been banished from the mainland. Unfortunately they've still got one city on Cyprus.

I've taken all the cities and ports along the eastern Mediterranean. Most regions have been converted to pastoralism for the 5% bonus. Should I have left them without governments, or am I missing something? Seems I vaguely recall transports being available somewhere but can't remember exactly. They sure as heck aren't available now. Any suggestions? Thanx.

Transport ships are enough to get troops from Antiocheia or Tarsos port to the coast of Cyprus. After that, your ships can be destroyed and it doesn't matter.

Thanks Boriak. Trouble is, transports aren't available in either city, or anywhere else for that matter. Could it be 'cuz pastoralism is established there? Or maybe some other reason?

This situation will likely be fixed in EB II. The Parthians themselves weren't known for their navies, but some of their subject peoples were an entirely different matter. So recruiting warships from a Phoenician or Greek city should be a viable option.
Anyway, use the transport boats to hop short distances. If pirates turn up, make large groups of transport boats and attack directly when you outnumber the pirates.

Ships should be available from the Seleukid naval port in Antiocheia, regardless of government. Unless you destroyed it of course.

EB II, I am led to believe, will have different Parthian recruitment, which will hopefully sort out issues such as these. Remember that M2TW has mercenary ships as well (at least, TATW has them).

I guess so. You'd probably have to change the ownership_stat (of the respective ships, for example Triereis) in the EDU and EDB to include "Parthia". Remember to make a safe copy of your files before you attempt anything of the sort, though.

Well what ships I should make recruitable by Palhava? I ask this question for the sake of historical accuracy. I thought about making recruitable only the smaller ships.
