I'm not very versed in terms of history, but an intense sea battle would be great to see in the game.

I was once an Angel of Total War Heaven, but gave up my wings for a life on the sea of battle.
NopeThe First Punic War was really a naval war, with a couple of land battles thrown in. Rome's population actually dropped because of the losses they suffered at sea, both due to battle and storms. But those numbers for the battle are only if the sources are 100% correct.
And I actually got it wrong. It wasn't 3,000 men, but 300,000. My bad

"Pompeius, after having finished the war against Mithridates, when he went to call at the house of Poseidonios, the famous teacher of philosophy, forbade the lictor to knock at the door, as was the usual custom, and he, to whom both the eastern and the western world had yielded submission, ordered the fasces to be lowered before the door of science."
Pliny the Elder, Naturalis Historia, 7, 112
would be interesting to see the battle of actium being fought out tbh
Cannae!, since the fate of Rome hung on the battle
Long Live CA!!!!!!!!!!!
Battle of Actium we need a naval battle![]()
I'd love to see the battle of Raphia. Tens of thousands of phalangites, cataphracts and elephants what's not to like? Also the battle of Magnesia would be fun.
I don't know about particular battles, but what i'd like to see is like we had in NTW and Shogun 2, in which the historical battles scenarios feature a rather chronological sequence, chronicling the ascension of Rome (well, that's a Roman-centric game, right? Obviously battles like Raphia should be featured).
That means we'd have historical battles in the Early Republic (Roman unification of Italy, perhaps), in the Punic Wars, in the Roman expansion through the Hellenic world, then through Gaul and Illyria, then we'd have the Civil Wars, and culminating in the Wars of Augustus.
My point is because that would have the player play battles with different phases of the Roman military, from the "archaic" composition pre-Punic wars, the Polybian army, the Marian army and the Augustan/Imperial army.
I want to see a scenario thing like in FOTS and napoleon? I liked the way they made it an interesting story, and you had to unlock next battle
The river trebia 218 bc
just for nostalgia after playing it over and over in the demo for rtw all those years ago
i would want Adrianople if the game covers that era
Pydna, Magnesia, Zama, Alesia, Pharsalus, Cannae, Thapsus, and Actium comes to mind.
to pick my top 10...
Cannae, Raphia, Carrhae, Alesia, Arausio, Watling Street, Teutoburg Forest, the Muthul, Actium, First Drepana
