Since when does any discussion NOT get overshadowed by something completely random? It happens no matter the subject... and I usually get the negative end of this. Welcome to my world.

Hey don't look at me, I'm just relaying what lore from the official games says, it's not my fault it doesn't quite match up here

I think it's all right if Hyrule has Missle cav of some sort, since they are supposed to be able to at least HAVE everything available. However, the Gerudo missle cav should be much more superior to their Hyrule counterparts.

I worry that that would make them a somewhat superior version of Ordona. They already have hardier line soldiers, more impressive cavalry and better all round stats. Ordona currently has Goat Lords, more variation on archers and their mounted farmer archers.

i'd say give them the extra units, the Hylians are pretty much the first to drop/kneel in most of my game's. and because there an all-around faction, they are the one thats supposed to be the middle man to everyone. like there starting position in the campaing (eks: Gerudo and Ordona has mounted archer's, Gerudo's are great with range attack but lack the charging speed, Ordona's are vise verse, the question is to find the middle ground for the Hylians)

The reason Hyrule drops dead immediately is because the AI thinks it is smart to spam trebuchets instead of actually making an army. The trebs fall, and Hyrule falls with them. That is why they are a joke. The Kokiri, for instance, don't have all that many units. Neither do the Zora. Yet, these are my two favorite races and I don't think a ton of units is necessary for a race to be effective. Simply having a roster of units that can be effective in their roles works for me. I'd be more focused on creating strategies with the units we have, and tweaking said units if necessary, to create a better Kingdom of Hyrule. Maybe they do need a new unit or two to round them out. Ok, but have a good reason to have them. Don't just say, "Hyrule is not good enough, give them more guys." Remember, Nephalim wants every faction to have a unique playstyle. Giving Hyrule units that would otherwise be uniquely Ordona and Gerudo may take away from the other two races as well as change the feel of Hyrule itself. I'm not saying don't add any new units, just be cautious.

hmm... that's a good point, is there any way to change how the AI thinks? and does the AI have more then one thought process? (like one for each Zora faction's?) if thats the case, then you guy's can change how the AI thinks when it goes into battle, as well for the units it can contain, making it more of a challenge then it currently is. (witch is for the most part a joke)

All I'm saying that is the first attribute the Hylians have is
The Kingdom of Hyrule fields a selection of soldiers that cover all disciplines.
This should give them a reason for missle cav, and at least one of every unit type to give them their supposed "generalist" feel.

Along with the Elder Goats, but if this is the case then maybe your Ordonian Knights need to show up soon to help even the playing field a bit.

At minimum I would like a unit of archers (Zelda 2 has em, and they have to come from somewhere.) and a mainline Infantry with shields. I think the Hylian Infantry we have now should become a dedicated great sword unit, with all the stats that entails (kill fast, die fast) while anew basic infantry with sword and board becomes Hylian Infantry (and Zelda 4 would either get that to keep up with her not faring so well, or give her the new elite greatswords.)

is there any room for this new Hyrulean Solder? that showed up in TP

You could say that the TP guards design is already present, except not as a single unit. Their clothes/armor went to the infantry and crossbowmen while their role and weaponry went to the castle guards.

Well, that's what seems to be the case to me. You'd have to ask Neph if you want to really know for sure if that's actually the case.

What the concept art betrays, however, is how silly the feet are on the bottom of that shield. The smith in charge of their production needs to be drawn and quartered.

Well they're obviously not meant for battle, just5 long periods of guard duty.

Hey neph i am kind of confussed about the fact that Akazoo is a general in hyrule, but also the leader of the stalfos so i just want to know how that would work.

I think Akazoo leads Hyrulean forces untill he dies then the Stalfos get him

In Neph lore, he was promised Zelda's hand in marriage, but then lost it. Then he kinda went crazy, turned into a Kefka-esque creepy clown guy and turned against Hyrule. After he was killed, he was raised as a Stalfos.

    Yep:

"Once a prominent soldier in Hyrule's ranks, the once General Akazoo was promised Princess Zelda's hand in marriage until that right was unwillingly taken away from him. This lead to Akazoo openly declare war on his own people until the conflict lead to his death. Presumed killed for many years, Akazoo has now risen and assumed the role of supreme leader over the undead. Little more then a disembodied skull, Akazoo is nonetheless capable of taking direct control of other skeletal parts, his most prominent choice being the severed hands of Wall and Floormasters."
    Akazoo - Stalfos unit.

Maybe when he dies with Hyrule, he becomes a Stalfos General? And the same with Mido Kokiri and Mido Gohma?
