Anyway to play (M:TW and S:TW) at 1920x1200

So I've had STW and MTW since they were released but never got into them since I was young and the games were far too complicated. Now that I've played the rest of the TW series and I'm older, I wanted to try out the original two games. But I can only play in 800x600. Now I'm not a graphics whore but I can barely even tell what's going on at that res.

Is there anyway to bump up the resolution to 1920x1200 or even something like 1600x1200? I tried googling but I only got results for S2TW.

There was once a thread suggesting to reduce the RAM in the system control to only 2GB.
This worked quite well when using my old laptop.

Don't know whether any other solutions exist. Have a new one know and want to play more modern games also. I now have to stick with the 800x600 at the campaign map - and even less on the battlemap with 640x480.

Hmm, oh well. I am fine with the old graphics but these resolutions make it hard to even see what I'm doing.
