Default Battlefield 3 problem that's really pissing me off. Please help :( [SOLVED]

Ok so I bought Battlefield 3 yesterday. Decided to install it today, downloaded a 5 GB patch after it installed. Verified it and all. It's ready to play. I press play. It says it's launching and THEN; "Battlefield 3 tm has stopped working".

My computer is more than capable of running this game.
    Error log says:
    Problem signature:
    Problem Event Name: BEX

I've seen some video on youtube suggesting that in order for it to launch I have to rename all folders without the "tm" at the end of Battlefield 3 but I thought I might go here for help first. Whenever I google this problem they always say to go into regedit and get rid of the tm in Battlefield 3... I don't see any "tm"

TL;DR, I try to launch BF3 and it won't even start.

Edit: My graphics driver is not up to date so i'll try updating it. Just updated NOTHING CHANGED.

Just tried the "repair install" function on origin for this game, came up with "Cannot load module EKAG20NT.EXE". This "Cannot load module EKAG20NT.EXE" message keeps coming up after I press ok.. What is going on!? I remember having a problem with that a while ago with Skyrim so I deleted it and Skyrim started launching again. Wonder what this means?

    Edit:
YES I FIXED IT. I disabled the Intel display adapter and it worked next time I launched the game.

I have avast anti virus, it's the only one i've ever had. I'll see if it's blocking BF3 or something like that. (BTW I dont use internet explorer so that advice wasn't the most helpful, I use mozilla firefox). I'm not using any tool bars with my internet browser either

Also what it said about add ons got me thinking... I had to download a add on for BF3 to launch..

I just noticed that Origin says "Origin Beta" on the top bar when it's expanded..

Edit: I used the spyware BHO remover and disabled all current internet add ons.. didn't fix it.

Mine does this, you do not actually need to launch it from origin.
Make sure you have origin open, then head to Battlelog, sign in and join a game.

I had the same problem and it was the tm issue. The first time I installed the game it installed into 'battlefield 3 tm'. Then during a routine update Origin installed the enitre game again to the Origin Games folder which is where it belongs.

So in Program Files you should have 3 folders pertaining to BF3. Battlelog Web Plugins - Origin - Origin Games. Origin Games should contain a folder named Battlefield 3, where the game is. So if you have that you can at least rule out the tm thing. But it is stragne that your error code mentions tm in "Battlefield 3 tm has stopped working."

And I see Origin Beta too. I guess Origin is still in Beta.

Could you please provide the URLs for those videos about the "TM" removal in your Registry? It might help us to understand what may be going on here. Thanks!

[ekag20nt.exe] is more interesting to me on this problem. It seems to be part of a DRM program called ElecKey. I don't know if this is the DRM that Battlefield 3 or Skyrim used for these games but if it isn't launching then you may have other problems going on. Do you have any virtually mounted drives on your system? Any cracks for any game whatsoever? Good luck!

This is one of the videos: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bRZMNONe6OY and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gtUv0...eature=related
I'm faily certain this isn't my problem though.
I don't have any cracks or pirated games or anything . Though when I first tried to launch Skyrim on this computer (when I had the EKAG20NT.EXE problem), Skyrim was installed on another computer of mine.

I've installed Origin into another hard drive (not C drive) because i'm running an SSD for just my operating system and a few programs, I installed BF3 straight into the Origin folder. I'll try to find what you've shown and get back to you.

Edit: I just reinstalled battlelog web plugin and it seemed to install to my C drive instead of my extra hard drive... Weird? Also there is no tm in any of those files when I open them up

I searched Battlefield 3™ and it found a file but it only says that in the file description and I don't know how to edit it

I dont think I was given an install patch choice when I downloaded the digital copy. It just installed to the ill fated Battlefield 3™ folder - I did the registry thing and that worked, until Origin in all its wisdom decided to installed the game again in the Origin Games folder. No idea how or why that happened but I'm glad it did.

Ive only ever had an OS drive and a pure storage drive (music etc) so I'm not familiar with the hoops you might have to jump through to install games to a non-OS drive.

    This make any sense?:

Oh this isn't a problem, i've got Origin and BF3 installed on the other hard drive. Though the battlelog plugin is on the c drive, not sure if this affects anything. Is there anything from the error report that could possibly tell me what I need to fix? I've just noticed that when I go into Origin to launch game, it doesn't open up the battlelog website.. Isn't it meant to?

    Just found this thread: http://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf3...4625041970555/
Says to send logs... There no such file in my origin.

Yes - you hit the play button and it launches a browser page with BL - browse and join games.

Ive googled everything in that error report and it really doesn't point to anything concrete as far as a cause. There are enough people having the issue that you think there would have been a definitive answer posted somewhere.

The only thing we do know is that it is the exe. Somewhere along the line the handshake is bungled, and BF3 needs to handshake with a large amount of applications before it launches. I didn't really think anything in those links I posted were going to be your issue, but that it highlights that issues can exist when installing different components to run this game, on different drives. There were a bunch of threads posted by people with issues when installed to a non-OS drive.

I would put my money on it working if everything was installed on the SSD, if you have room. You might just have to bite the bullet and try it at least.

Yeah I read that somewhere but I thought it only applied to laptops as that is the only place Ive seen that installed.
