    Default Veteran/Battle Statistics

I've been reading through all these threads of late stating they wouldn't mind this nor that with a bit of this mixed in. I was also reading a thread or two about how they would and if they would port the Shogun2 veterancy across into RTWII, thinking about this made me wonder if there is possibly an easy way to track the veterancy of units/armies.

In the past i've always been more focused on the singleplayer version within Total War rather than the multiplayer side, and i felt that in Shogun 2 the singleplayer version was left rather neglected and less refined than the multi side. And so i was wondering if in singleplayer there could be a way of keeping track of not just units veteran status in singleplayer and multiplayer but if these could someho be combined into a different train of thought.

So i thought why not integrate battle statistics which would be under a different tab or a tab namely called 'Veterancy' which would show a units statistics for use of a better word. These statistics could include certain things like 'enemy soldiers killed' or 'battles participated in' and possibly even 'brothers lost' etc etc.

This way you would be able to have a more personal touch to your soldiers and maybe even take care of the poor sods better haha.

This wasn't just an irriational thought eitehr as the Roman army required these veterans, Hastati - Triarii in veterancy level as they were.

I just wanted to know the communities thoughts/suggestions on this idea

Maybe instead of recruiting principas and triarii, have that be a change in veterancy (hastati are bronze chevrons, principes are silver, triarii are gold)?

Also, hastati should use spears as in real life.

Stats are awesome... Hope they continue to beef them up. Also. Really liked how SH2 (albeit multiplayer) that you could upgrade vet units always enjoyed it... Maybe not dramatically changing the colors, but adding something unique to make them distinguished on the battlefield. Possibly as they vet up u can specialize them?

I would love to be able to treat each legion like a veteran unit from Shogun (give it certain traits, perhaps a combination of a buffs and penalties i.e. "Aggressive Legion"- +2 attack, -1 defense, may charge without orders). To give each unit its own personality would be particularly immersive, and add extra gameplay elements as a legion gains loyalty to its commander depending on their personality and actions.

If you mean each legion, Love it! If you mean each unit, its gonna be like 786 454 454 454 454 changes....
Apologies for anyone who's message i may miss or not be able to answer

Thats actually a really good idea.

However to improve this further port this into single and multiplayer otherwise like in SH2 you have a rank (say) 4 which is improved in everything, i would like it so you can pick special traits or buffs instead of an all round increase

Maybe it's not going to be like this, but I hope that CA implements a system where you can make a full stack and then press a button to turn it into a "Legion", you can no longer add or take away units from it and it will instead start to level up like characters, of course we will still be able to make misc armies to deal with rebellions.

That would be a good way of handling things! I absolutely love the idea that my legions will level up and gain traits but I want to be able to recruit regularly too.

However, you'd think the player could at least add auxilia to existing legions. I'm sure they could be "reinforced" as well. I only hope reinforcing is not so mindlessly easy as it is in Empire.

Also to the OP I would be overjoyed if I could actually pick traits and skills like that for my legions! They could be called doctrines, or something.
