    Default Rome II expansions.

Ok due to some debate having in another thread about 500 a.c -800 a.c. Which dlc expansion would you prefer related to Rome history. Rome as a concept that goes beyond the city walls.

BEFORE VOTING SEE THE DESCRIPTIONS BELOW. As the concept of the options have evolved. Specially the first and last one.

YOU CAN VOTE FOR SEVERAL OF THEM.

Latin city state, Rome small city in struggle for its survival.(as always?) Etruria, Samnio, Great Greece, Gauls invasion in big map also Greek city states at Peloponesos war, Marathon, Salamina, Termopilas, the fall of Assyria, early Persia, independent Egypt, Cartaghe foundation, the colonization of western Mediterranean coast, the annabasis, the rise of Macedon, Alexander.

Barbarian Invasion. If you do not know, go and buy it.ok it is about the Fall of the Western Roman Empire, the Germanic and Slav tribes and the Eastern Roman Empire fighting for survival.

Eastern Roman Empire stands alone. The Western part of it is on hollidays. Will you reconquer it? or will you destroy the last part of the Empire? Sasanids want to get some of the land you have, just because it seems you have too much for youself. But they are not the only ones thinking about it. What about the Slavs or the Arabs? Was there really a king called Arthur? What about Saxons and Anglians? Is Venice a good chance for the future? Visigoths, Franks or Galloromains in Gaul? Vandals in Carthage?
Rome, what is that?, any other concept you would like to see over that wonderful part of land.If you find Rome and surroundings history boring, what would you play? Homer War of Troy, Ulisses, Gods intevention, heroes and demigods, Heracles, Ancient Egypt, Babel, Phoenicians, Israel..

I have not put any of the strong times of the Empire, at least strong with external powers, because I considered that it would have no so much gameplay. But maybe if there are political families, military coups, this could be intersting, but I do not know if Rome II will have that deepness. And somehow Barbarian Invasion is similar.

So WHICH EXPANSION WOULD YOU BUY? lets help the friendly people of CA earn a good money making us have a good time so we all get what we want.

Something like Barbarian Invasion except way more detailed than BI was.
Under the patronage of John I Tzimisces

I would like to see them do better versions of Alex:TW and Barbarian Invasion. Anything else is just a bonus.

Well I'd like a Trajan expansion if this timeframe is not included in the vanilla game.

Depends on how Rome II turns out. If I'll love it I'd buy almost every expansion

A cool expansion could be someting set in the aftermath of the Fall of Alexander's Empire where you could play as the Diadochi(Selecucids, Macedon, Ptolemaic Egypt, and the kingdom of Attalid Dynasty). Other factions could be an early but weak Rome and Carthage. Maybe a remake of Barbarian Invasion also.

Are these factions not all playable in the main campaign?
Or do you want a more detailed setting dealing with historical characters and the conflicts between 320 and 280 BC?

    1. Barbarian Invasion (more darker and brutal barbarians that crushing each others, plundering/sweeping cities/towns in the decline of the western empire)

    2. Rome : Asian Dynasties (just need a better other titles, to differs with aoe3... i don't have any other ideas to name it) >.< ...

extent campaign map to East Asia (maybe southeast too), so there will be a silk road route, the persian royal road, etc, ...ancient chinese and india was also the former civs in the world too, especially the Han dynasties and late three kingdoms that have same period with the rome, so it would be a completely a total war in the old world (asia, africa, europe) ...just wondering if they'll make it, I'm tired with the shogun and only japanese map!

I'd probably buy whatever expansion they release as along as the quality is up to snuff.

    Barbian invasion, without a doubt.

Latin city state would cover the Peloponesos war, and later on the Macedonian rise as the Carthage foundation and expansion. Etrurians. Asirians. Persians. Pre Ptolemaic Egypt. Interesting no? Termopilas, Salamina, Marathon, Cirus, Xerxes, the anabasis

As I am thinking on this one I am finding it more interesting. I think I would pay for this as an original game.

BI or Easter Roman empire exclusives, in the former you get the BI from the past but revampoed, and in the latter you get the Sassanids and Byzantines, and the Rise of Islam, to say the least.

The Rise of Islam is not close enough to be a relevant/logical expansion for a game about Rome. It would seem more logical for a game set around the Dark Age.

On topic: Rome as a small city state fighting for its survival, so option 1.
R2TW stance: Ceterum autem censeo res publica delendam esse

Anything in Late Antiquity or early Middle Ages please.
So either good old classical Barbarian Invasion 2 or Eastern Roman Empire alone. A campaign dealing with Justinian, Maurice or even as late as the Macedonian dynasty could also be interesting.

I don't think we'll see B.I. or Alexander for Rome 2 - this is a post I made in another thread:

I don't think it'll happen. Shogun released Mongol Invasion, as far as I remember - Shogun 2 didn't. Medieval released Viking Invasion - Medieval 2 didn't. So I think it's very unlikely we'll see either Barbarian Invasion or Alexander for Rome 2. Personally, I'd like a Julius Caesar expansion in the style of Napoleon.

Maybe related to later civil war and Octavius taking the power as first emperor. If there is a character role playing, maybe this can be near.

Watching actual results it seems that people is far more interested in a late period than in an earlier one.
