would jesus come up as an event in rome 2 were i could choose to let him live or die with each having their own consequence . if i choose to let him live Christianity would be spread through the land but if i killed him it would decrease

No he wasn't that big of a deal. The decision to torture and kill him as a martyr was a decision they made a thousand times over, nothing the emperor would even be told. If he did live then Christianity wouldn't have ever existed so I guess the Coliseium wouldn't have been shut down because Christians where against killing each other for public spectacle...
But I digress...
lol, I dont think that would be a good idea, just because that would definitively generate controversy from the media in a negative way most likely. Best to avoid portraying the most important well-known religious figure in the history of mankind just to be safe.

If jesus would have stayed alive, his cult would vanish from history just like every other cult from that era.
Jesus really wasnt that kind of "important" in the era, i would mind if they skip him.
Well, if they include him, I want to see walk on water action, dang it!
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Didn't christianity become more popular quite some time after the death of jesus?
In the grand scheme of things I don't see them doing it. Christ's time was mostly with the jews, Romans didn't really care much about him. Now if you got to play as a Jewish faction, then I could see them adding him. Maybe give the player an option to convert to Christianity?
Rome II will likely start around 270 BC. Even the smallest changes in the timeline - and TW games generally feature large changes to what happened in real life - Jesus should never be born.
I think regardless of whether or not CA includes Jesus as a gameplay mechanism/character of some sort (please do not), it would be interesting to see Christianity affect your empire as a whole over time given that the adoption of the religion by the masses and political figureheads was one of the main factors in the main cultural/economic/military transformations of the Empire leading to it's eventual decline.
I think giving the player the choice to pursue condemnation of Christians (Diocletian) or state acceptance (Constantine) would create a more interesting end game since there was never a lot to do once you conquered the world in Rome 1.
I'm surprised there are no christians taking offense to this. Lol a decision where you can decide to murder "Jesus" You must be out of your damn mind brah.
It really shouldn't have an effect unless Rome goes a couple hundred years after 0 ad.
His birth and death should be minor events but his religion should be contagious and easily spread and take over provinces quickly.
Maybe they should ad them as rebel priests like in med 2 and if the religion get popular enough you could atopt it. Or you could send and official to arrest and kill him.
You could also see some of his followers like Peter walking around the campaign map too. It would really add some immersion.
Not trying to hurt anyone feelings, but I bet that had he lived, you wouldn't even know about him today. So actually it would be the other way around. In either case I don't think it's worth the trouble for CA, I mean, that have potential to irate a lot of people.
Maybe a mod could have that event.
