General/governor units have upkeep. I was wondering what do people do with old/bad governors that you don't plan to use anymore. Do you just send them to die to reduce upkeep or just let them idle outside the city? Also, govs that have very low loyalty seems to turn rebel once you let them stand outside for awhile. How do you deal with that? Send him to suicide before he turns?

It's amazing. I don't know why so many of my bad governors have a tendency to charge forward to their heroic deaths...although sometimes the younger ones can be rehabilitated from their youthful indiscretions.

If your nice like me, i give them all a nice fort to retire too, bad or old, and use them to bank up retinue that i can send a good general to pick erm up or swap about, If your evil, your just stick erm all on a single ship and disband it at sea

Disband at sea? My TWX:ALX engine does not allow that... I try to send my bad generals/governors to die in battle, but they die very hard: autoresolver often saves them and rout to coast ships or settlements and on battlemap they often rout before dying ;(. Well some bad governors in time reabilitiate a bit and become quite usable. Dunno if what's a rule, but it loooks that "dishonest" and "pessimist" tend to turn into bad governors.

I use resupply forts to keep streams of replacements moving to the front, and I keep small stacks in forts to clean up the occasional rebellion. These are perfect places for crap governors/generals. I don't mind paying the upkeep.

Ye olde Sea Vacations, my friend. Nothing better than a mediterranean trip into an enemy fleet for making your problems vanish. The captain said it was stupid, but that faction leader truly believed he could beat a chevroned decere with a birreme. He did it thrice as the decere didn't feel like doing its job

You can always give them a small force and send them on raiding missions. You know, those missions that delve into deep, deep enemy territory.

I use them as cavalry support either in my stack or in a AI controled stack. They also provide retinues for my younger family members or take one or another bad retinue into their service.
