Default Siege towers on boats ?!

    Hey guys,

I read somewhere that during a siege, a greek general used siege towers on boats. I think that was the siege of Tyre by Alexander the Great.
Is it possible ? If yes, was it successful ? Do you know any other sieges where siege towers were put on boats ?

Unlikely that it could do any good other than to the units on board, in a way it's possible but isn't practical.

The strain of simply adding the function to disembark on the battle map is enough of a burden from what I could tell and will probably be restricted to predefined landings, such siege equipment will just be gratuitous labour on their part so I wouldn't expect anything extravagant.

The only other case I know of this would be the attack on Constantinople in the 4th crusade... a bit out of the timeframe So it's probably too special to be a regular unit in the game.
"Pompeius, after having finished the war against Mithridates, when he went to call at the house of Poseidonios, the famous teacher of philosophy, forbade the lictor to knock at the door, as was the usual custom, and he, to whom both the eastern and the western world had yielded submission, ordered the fasces to be lowered before the door of science."

Yes. They also carry 24-pounder Guns, and 50. Calibre Machine Guns. For beach landings, 5000 veterans of Normandy.
