DX11

[Man'o'War]

Hi, I recently bought a new pc, came with S2 and mentioned DX11.

Well lo & behold I noticed I'm running the game with DX9. I thought that my game would automatically be running with DX11.

Can someone tell me how I go about running DX11 and what difference it makes?

Cheers irishron.

This machine started life a few weeks back as a 4.4 or 4.8 ghz professionally overclocked quad core. I've already had to flash the bios to get the game running which unclocked me back to 2.8 ghz. Does this impact performance for S2? Any idea how I re overclock it if it increases performance? I'm currently turning settings down for mp games.

Anyway, that aside, it appears I'm running DX10 but the game says DX9.

Run Microsoft Update and install all software options starting with Service Pack 2 has a good chance of getting you there as the dxdiag still says SP1 and dx10.

I got another problem now, every hour on the hour I get a message telling me my windows (Vista) is not a genuine copy (it is) and it wants an activation code. Every time I try to update I get different error messages which I'm assuming is because of this non activation message.

I'm not expecting any help with this btw. I'm researching why this should be as my windows is totally genuine but came with a Dell machine.

I had this situation once when i reinstalled Windows XP. I just called Microsoft support about it and they "re-activated" (or something) my XP copy. Maybe they can do something same/similar with yours? (But I wasn't getting a not-genuine message, I just didnt' have the product key anymore, so I don't know if they'd resolve yours as easily as they did mine... )
