No longbows?

Hi have England no Longbowmen anymore?

in the export_desc_unit file i find both briton longbow and Welsh longbow...

why cant i get them in custom battle?

english longbowmen werent in use in the perion the game covers.

Actually, Welsh Longbowmen should be for hire as mercenaries in the early era, but that doesn't work in the current version due to a bug. Proper longbowmen will have to wait till the high era.

If you look closely, you´ll also find Chivalric Knights and Sergeants as well as Gothic Knights and Pikemen and a couple of other units in the EDU, but not in the game. They´re planned, but not yet available. Of course, you can unlock some, but beware of crashes. So don´t do it unless you know what you´re doing.

With 0.44 you should be able to recruit Welshies in Aberffraw if you have a governor in town and enough money.
